Was a tough choice actually. Undoubtedly more will die with the elves still at hand, but leaving those people in the crypt to a horrible fate was something I couldn't do.

Yaevinn was there. I said I wanted to negotiate, Siegfried did not approve. In the end, I spoke with Yaevinn. I encouraged him to spare the lives of his men, and he called me a traitor. Siegfried rejoined me at this part.
Scoia'Tael aren't going to be happy, that's for sure. Now to chase down Yaevinn!

Though I may not agree with his affiliation, he seems like a stand up guy that isn't just using me. Which means, he totally is using me >.>

Siegfried is coming across as probably the one genuinely likeable character in the game lol.

Support him all the way and you will get something nice in the end. Just saying.

I really dug inviting him to Shani's party in Chapter 2, it shows what a charmer he can be with the ladies.

Siegfried doesn't take opposition gracefully.

About Shani vs Triss: it seems most people here prefer Shani, and while I liked her at first, I got turned off completely when I talked to her about Alvin. Instead of being reasonable she starts saying nasty things about Triss, while there seemed to be no base for her rude remarks. Besides, Alvin clearly has a lot of power that he has to learn to control. The journal says that "sources" often go crazy or die when they can't learn to control their power. Shani doesn't know a thing about magic, so it seems rather irresponsible to leave Alvin with her just because she has a jealousy fit.
Although Triss clearly hides something from Geralt, she never appeared as an enemy to me, so in this case I chose to trust her.

According to the gas chromatograph, the secrent ingredient (to cure lycanthropy) is.... LOVE!? All right.... Who's been screwing with this thing!?
I found it quite funny how the druid who told you that practically cringed at how corny it was.
Do it anyway. The resulting slide is to me the most heartwarming moment in the saga, books included.

If you have the time to do it. Do yourself a favour and read the novels or short stories that were translated into English before you start The Witcher 2
Should he? Should I? Havent read the books but loved the Witcher 2. However while the games have make me want to read the books I dont know if I should at least until after the Witcher 3 is released, Geralt does have amnesia after all and I have found that playing through the games I quite like not knowing these things and finding them out as I play through the game.
It would be like playing Planescape: Torment after reading all of the Nameless One's exploits, there is no sense of mystery as you already know everything beforehand and the story loses its impact.

Hah! I was just quoting The Simpsons.
I actually posted it after I cured Vincent.
