Told all the other suspects they are in the clear. About to go chop up some bodies with Shani.

Autopsy quest is awesome! Don't poke the body too hard.

Autopsy waylaid since the time of day is annoying for it (talk to Shani at night, but can only talk to gravedigger in the day... gaaah)

Running in the swamp getting the stones for the obelisks. Not sure where I'll get the last one, but learning about the 2nd last one (in the Golem). Need to talk to Alchemist to figure out the what's up.

Also, Shani wants to have a shindig. Need to find someoen to invite (the alchemist! lol)

LOL Invited Zoltan to the party. Getting tanked (the 4 of us, Shani, Dandelion, and Zoltan)

Zoltan is definitely fit for the drinking part of that. CSI: Vizima can wait for a bit of R&R. I'm curious if the extra "errand" for the party game during that changes dependent on who you brought, never bothered with a second playthrough.

Actually I metagamed a bit, as initially inviting Zoltan said I failed the autopsy quest.

I'm guessing they didn't like me having two different things to have to do with Shani late at night. Ended up reloading and did the autopsy first (which mostly just confirmed that Javed is in fact a bad dude, and that Raymond is him).

Although interesting, the medallion actually does vibrate in game (as Geralt made a comment on it)

I think it's just about time to spring the trap on Javed.

I don't know where to find the last stone for the monolith. Given Kalkstein's advice on it, I assume I'll magically come across it I guess :\\

The golem was interesting.

Huh. I stumbled upon Siegfried in the swamp. Wants me to recon the golem graveyard for Scoia'Tael.

I am not really interested in getting involved in holy wars....

Piece of advice, who you side with affects how the other side sees you, and may lock some options in the future.

(btw, Siegfried is the best in Shani's party).

I figured that that would be the case (it's heavily telegraphed).

I romanced Shani (which was executed so well, right up until you give her the rose). Although the game seems pretty intent on hooking me up with Triss, since they just write in that she jumps my bones at the beginning of Chapter 3. (In a rather awkward and almost uncomfortable scene, to be honest).

In general, I absolutely loathe the cards. I do not like what they represent at all, and while I could argue that Triss' is still rather tasteful, the other ones I saw (Abigail, Shani, Courtesan) made me facepalm more than anything else. I've effectively decided to not bother anymore, and would prefer to see if I can focus on a single relationship. My goal is to effectively try to be with Shani, but I don't think that's in the cards (ho ho ho) unfortunately. I have a feeling that the Princess will want a piece of me as well, and I may have to acquiesce and decide whether or not to go with the flow with Triss. I may renege on this if I feel there's a legitimate story purpose for doing so (manipulating for information), but we'll see I guess.

I enjoyed the conversation with Javed as Raymond in the tower. The hints of learning the truth and all. I suspect that he gets a shot in on me if I don't already know the truth (which is pretty neat!).

But now it seems I'm off to chapter 3. I am low on gold (definitely cannot afford the armor upgrade!), but need to look to upgrade my sword (finally have 3 pieces of meteorite).

The game hints that I'll need to make a choice, and if I were to make one now it'd probably be the Order.

I invited Carmen to the party. Dandelion was pretty much fist-pumping but, Shani on the other hand got PIIIIIIISSED. Funny as hell :D

I didn't know who I could invite, so the first time I ended up with Carmen as well. It was hilarious, but I also felt like an ass, so I reloaded and tried Siegfried. He was surprisingly amusing as well. Then, to have tried them all, I reloaded again and invited Zoltan. I was actually disappointed with him. I thought he would bring more comedy, but he didn't say very interesting things.

The one made from three yellow meteorites is the way to go, but as far as I remember you can't find any in the I or II act. Three red is also a good choice - bleeding effect is actually quite powerful. But then again I never really bothered because there is Harvall [it's a sword] in the swamps next to wyverns in act II. You can pretty much rely on it till the act IV.

Hmmm, I didn't find any other sword unfortunately. I have 2 red and I think a blue. I'll have to evaluate what buffs those are again before moving forward (and seeing what the expenses are anyway.

Ran into an interesting spot. A merchant said he is unable to sell liquor because of a royal edict. (Looks around at all the alcohol on display in the square), interesting....

You can still find Harvall in the swamps in the act III. You will probably be going in that direction anyway, since one of the contracts from the Royal huntsman is for this unique wyvern near the sword.

This isn't really a spoiler to be honest and it has been while since done it myself but I think some of the weapons and armours import from TW1 to TW2 if I recall correctly. As said though been long time since I played through either so I could be wrong and might just be weapons but should inspire you maybe to find some. Then again there are quite a lot of weapon and armours mods for TW2 by time start on that one so probably won't care as much about ones from previous game.

There are some unique end-game weapons that transfer to TW2 if possessed in a completed save-file, but without those you mostly get some handful of extra items at the beginning of the game.

Those import items are really good for about quarter of the way, but after that, the items you're using will pretty surely be more powerful, plus cooler (in case of armors at least, TW2 has a ton of those)

Yes, some are imported... but legendary Witcher 1 swords with rich lore and history become mediocre Act 1 weapons in TW2... its just sad. Sure they help... very slightly at the very beginning... but that's all. Kinda takes away from the value of these weapons, which were really powerfull in TW1.

I would have introduced them later in the game to preserve balance and keep them as unique items.

They helped a lot. I kept the Raven Armor until I could craft the Kraken-like hide one. On the other side, it was a bit sad how nerfed it was, not to mention how soon a freaking Sihill was outclassed. (It was Geralt´s main sword in the second half of the saga, and it was left clear it was a top of the line blade).

About cards, I tend to ignore them. In my current playthrough I didn´t get one until the half-elf (who clearly wanted to). Triss is a no-no after reading the books, and some others are what the hell hero moments (mostly Chapter 4). In general I try to play Geralt as he behaved in the books, and while he was fine with casual sex he wasn´t asking every other female to sleep with him (Jaskier however...).

That's fair.  But at the same time part of game design (especially for RPGs) is still that sense of progression.

While I think there are some that would be quite content to think "Cool, this awesome sword I imported from the first game is still awesome.  I'm glad I imported" there will also be some that think "It's kinda silly to essentially start off with the best weapon in the entire game right from the get go...."

I actually really enjoy that concept. Perhaps they were lost or given to someone else for safe keeping during the interim between games, only to be recovered and still pretty relevant (although better equipment could be found before the end game).

+1 for this concept.
