Erm, given that a lot of them have vows of chastity, I wouldn't be at all surprised to know that the robes were in part designed to discourage sex.
Not to be argumentative, but robes would make the act easier. Anders talks about that in Awakening when he discusses mage robes with Oghren.

And you actually believe that? Anders said that just to make fun of Oghren (don't forget that he was afraid of "monster pants").
And no to that idea, that would kill completely the realism, we are talking about an group of religious people that swore fielty or whatever to the Maker, so they shouldn't wear something provocative.

I prefer a realistic approach, really. It seems so many games - including the two latest Mass Effect games - are trying to cater to certain demographics with scantily clad women. Dragon Age will hopefully remain different :-)
The funny thing about this is, that even though the six or so females you personally take with you over the games are scantly clad, the background females all wear full-length dresses--something practically unheard of in this day and age.

Let me replace "scantily clad" with "sexually provocative."

I'm guessing it's going to stay the same. No women showing off skin left and right aside from one of the female LIs. Of course, Morrigan and Isabela were written well enough to make it less obvious in the actual game.Ajensis wrote...

I would disagree on Isabela but agree on Morrigan. Just my opinion.

Funny because Morrigan's outfit makes almost no sense for her character or situation at all, but Isabela's does.

Kidd said "less obvious," not "more fitting for their character."

For a female run organization, does anyone else find some of the Chantry robes rather frumpy? The men's robes in particular are mostly sacks. DA:I, since the Chantry will likely be quite prominent, should feature a re-design of the old Chantry robes to give us some better eye candy.
Seriously? Have you ever seen an outfit associated with a religious order that was sexy IRL?

Not sexy.

Not sexy.

Not sexy (from a fictional universe, but still reminiscent of European monastic robes).

For some people... let's not go there.

Vestments of a Catholic Priest. Not at all sexy.
Is this supposed to be a joke thread? I hope OP is not being serious...

Which would essentially just be reusing DA:O's underwear, come to think about it.
