Don't you get it? You could've pirated everything, so they check if your installation is legit. Then they check again, because you could've deleted the legit installation and replaced it with a pirated one.

Why would you just let people play a SP game they've registered online at least for a certain amount of time without being connected to your servers? That just doesn't make any sense.

You can still use DLC offline. As long as you're still signed in you can use everything except MP.

There are so many cheaters (most of the time ppl who messed with the stats) and exploiters(FB Hydra) loitering around that a few illegal copys would hardly matter
And not being able to play offline can make ppl like Devilry  who want to play the kampain resort to "illegal" activities.
