I was thinking of playing Origins one last time (or albeit redoing a character I never finished the game with) as a female Human Noble, and I'm curious, if you tell Anora you'll support her at the landsmeet, and then after Loghain dies, put yourself and Alistair on the throne, did the writers bother to show Anora's reaction? Does she flip out? I think it would be moving to see the banns rally to the last of the Couslands against Loghain and Anora at the Landsmeet, so I'd love to just do it without her, but the thought of seeing her face when she realizes you backstabbed her is a tempting idea.

So why don't you do it?
I don't know, I've never betrayed her.

I don't think there's anything specific to betraying her compared to just siding against her.

Pretty sure Wulfram's right. Agreeing to support her or not just determines whether she speaks out against Loghain or not. No extra dialogue come decision-time depending on what you agreed beforehand - with the exception of being able to marry Anora and Alistair.

I did exactly what you described (said I'd support her if she married Alistair, changed my mind after Loghain's execution and just sided with Alistair), and sadly she doesn't really bring up the fact that you betrayed her.

I think it would have been understood by most that the circumstances changed the moment her father refused to yield and tried to stage a coup.

You mean when he demanded trial by battle, as was his right, and had another Bann declare the rules of said battle? That's not a coup.

Technically he doesn't do that. It plays out like this, as far as I know...
Loghain wins:
Warden and Eamon launch a fight against Loghain after he says the Wardens should be taken into custody. Eventually things get so out of hand that other people just go "For the love of Andraste, stop this nonsense you ****ing idiots!"
Warden wins:
1) Warden can say "Let's settle this honorably", to which Loghain agrees that it's how it should be.
2) Warden launches the fight against Loghain, to which Loghain defends himself. And eventually a trial by battle happens because, well, see Loghain's victory scenario.
He doesn't demand a trial by battle -- though he accepts the idea and does ask a Bann to set the rules -- nor does he ever launch a coup. A coup would be him immediately calling in his men once he had lost.
Instead, he just calls them all traitors and gives his motive rant.

Yeah, you're right. And dammit, I had just played that part! The Ethereal Writer Redux wrote...

It's more fun for me to win by getting enough votes without Anora, then letting pandemonium break out in the landsmeet, then doing the duel. In the Landsmeet, it's the player calling all the shots. None of the NPCs make the choices if the player wins at the Landsmeet.
BTW if the fight goes on long enough, some of the banns join in!

with a rack like that, its difficult for my character to even look her in the eye, let alone betray her. could that shirt get ANY tighter?
then again i killed arl redcliffe. my list of landsmeet vouchees isnt exactly long. not that i had his vote ever anyways.
itll be interesting to see how it plays out to say the least. my character does tend to select the "wrong thing to say" quite often.
maybe its the blood mage in him, idk.
