I must thank you, soteria, both for making your excellent instruction videos, and for directing me to that highly entertaining thread!  :P

I have a question based on the vid you made for the infamous thread ;) You said you put Alistair furthest down the incline on purpose to draw enemy mage fire...if no taunt or what have you is used, do they typically go for the closest? If that's so, then that just made my life a ton easier, lol.

Yes, they automatically target the nearest person, and it's most noticeable with mages and archers, since they typically aren't running toward you. If you noticed, when I ran down the hill to initially get their attention, they all came after my rogue, even though I ran to a position farther away. Anyway, usually you want to get your warrior closes to a group of archers, since they're always going to shift targets to the closest person until someone damages or taunts them.

Also, until an enemy completes an attack command they started, they won't change targets (even if you taunt). If you pay close attention, you'll notice the Genlock Alpha comes up and attacks Dog first, because that was who he saw first (while he was overwhelming the first mage). Alistair taunts, but he still completes an attack against Dog before changing targets.

Here ya go, another Broodmother strategy for an all melee team with some poison making.  It's kinda slow maybe boring, but effective at all difficulties.

- Somehow I lost Ohgren right away so it's basically done with only 3.

Completed on nightmare:

***Watch the end, I got the dual dagger kill at the end.

I added it to the OP, thanks. Looks like she was resisting a lot of the grenade damage--something like 30% resists?

Yea, I think it's supposed to be around 80 dmg max.  Event my teammates had good resistance against them when I was doing some previous testing.

They barely effect Dragons.  I think you get an average in the low 20s.  Some of those seem like they do get DoT dmg.

Would like to see something on killing the suits of armor in Redcliffe Castle. Everywhere I've looked, people mention it being one of the hardest fights in the game.

Edit: A youtube video here shows someone doing the fight in a very haphazard way, depending heavily on Morrigan having the ability to heal people (which she doesn't currently have in my game).

It is a hard fight--each of them has Rally running, giving them very high defense at the beginning in addition to their high armor.  I may end up doing that one, but it will be at least a month before I can work on any videos for technical reasons.

In one of the spell combo vids, the author says that AoE spells are "not line of sight". The video shows a spellcaster casting death cloud (I think) into a hallway.

When I try to have my spellcaster cast mass paralysis, she always walks right into the room and gets kak'd. I can see the room and its baddies with the overhead cam, but she still insists on walking right in. Was this ability removed in patch 1.03? <_<

Someone with 1.03 would have to answer that question, I guess, but I doubt it. Most of the large aoe spells are not line of sight, especially the primal spells, but I don't know what spells might be exceptions... I only realized I could cast Death Hex over a wall by accident, while reviewing a video.

The possibility of it getting patched aside, these are the spells that I know don't take a line of sight:

Glyphs

Most (all?) Hexes

Large aoe primal spells (Blizzard, Inferno, Tempest?)

Death Cloud

Mana Clash

Can anyone with patch 1.03 answer this question? Are AoE spells still not line of sight? Meaning as long as you can see the room, you can cast AoE spells. I don't currently have any large scale AoE spells with the exception of mass paralysis.

Finally! First video from Awakening, The Mother. Same as usual, nightmare, no potions, but for some reason I got confused and thought that I wasn't using healing spells, either. I don't know why I would think that, especially in Awakening when you would have to respec to avoid them, but there you go. I guess I got in a rut from my previous playthrough.

I have to say, I really like the boss fights in Awakening. I was thinking of doing Queen of the Blackmarsh next and then The Baroness, but does anyone have any suggestions for other fights? And, why is it most of the hard fights in Awakening were against females?

- The Queen of the Blackmarsh would be nice to see.  Does destroying all the orbs before they meet do anything?  I never could do that fast enough for some reason.

- Maybe the fight against the Inferno Golem and that other guy.  I didn't really find a lot of the fights that hard, but it would be nice to see some other strategies.

- Oh also that fight against the 2 dragons.  Luckly they fly up and teammates auto revive.  Otherwise it could be a tough fight.  I basically isolated one with forcefield and slowly chipped away at them one at a time.

Each orb heals her a certain amount... nothing special happens if you kill them all.  They can be CC'd, so a really easy way to kill her is to cast Blizzard on top of her to slow the orbs down, and keep on killing her.  Mass Paralysis works, too.  As long as you keep one orb alive and away from her, you can get her from 75% to dead the first time she changes form.

- Maybe the fight against the Inferno Golem and that other guy. I didn't really find a lot of the fights that hard, but it would be nice to see some other strategies.

Hmm, I thought it was pretty straightforward, but it could be I just powered through it and missed the details.

I don't think I ever got an auto-revive, but I might not have been tightly enough grouped for that to happen. I only did that fight twice, so I can't say off-hand what sort of strategy is most effective. Really, though, the reason I never did any more videos for Awakening is that the expansion was just generally so easy I didn't see much need for them.

Oh, and updated OP with another video (Caladrius).

Yea I would agree and just like you in many of the fights I just bulldozed my way through.

On the double dragon fight when they fly into the air, my downed teammates would come back if I was close enough to them.  Maybe it's a bug or glitch but it can happen.

When they are both there they seem to alternate up and down, but when you have 1 left it can happen much easier.

Well I just fought the Mother for the first tiem and was kinda suprised how easy she was.  I did watch your video afterwards.

I fought her on nightmare, but I just went to to toe with her and ignored the tentacles and just took the beating.  She died surprisingly quick.  I did have to take some health postions, but all in all it was a fast fight.  I did use the firball speel you get at the very end but it probably wasn't necessary sens she was almost dead.  I actually forgot about the spell you get.

I don't really know the names, but my group was the female elf mage, Justice, female dwarf, and myself as shapeshifting mage.  I did most of the fight as a Bear, but switched to mage when health was around 25%.  By then the Mother was around 50% or less health.

Also on the Caladrius video.  Another way to eliminate him fast is to use Overwhlem if you are a shapeshifter.  Just rush him as bear or even spider and drop him.  If you can't kill him in a single overwhelm then you could combo like spider - overwhelm - web - bear - overwhelm and stomp if you have to finish him off.  Or you could try to use paralysis or some type of stun if you need more time between shapeshifting.
