I always thought, after completing the Urn of Sacred Ashes: wouldn't it be lovely to have kolgrim come to slay the archdemon and summon the High Dragon against it? it would be meat for some awesome cinematics (even if it can't actually kill the archdemon, it could weaken it, maybe just hurting it with its flame breath while kolgrim screams "o holy Andraste! let your fury be unleashed upon the enemies of the world!")

of course, after some big persuasion. he isn't overjoyed to help, I know.
