How would you react if Bioware canonized Synthesis if they made a sequel?

At this point, another bad decision's not going to change anything. I'll only react if they do something good.

Control and Destroy are close enough to each other that it wouldn't be so hard to make ME 4 able to take place in either version of the galaxy.
That's my prediction anyway...

Actually, not bad.Athro wrote...
Personally the smart money is to have Destroy and Control as the "Canon" endings for ME4. Basically Synthesis ends the franchise in a way that makes it impossible to continue the series. So it would be treated as "if you took synthesis, then that's the end. The Reapers won, but so did everyone else."
Control and Destroy are close enough to each other that it wouldn't be so hard to make ME 4 able to take place in either version of the galaxy.
That's my prediction anyway...
In control ending part of the sequel, Shepard AI has gone mad, the Reapers are no longer friendly.
In destroy ending part, there were Reapers that were not destroyed.
In both, Reaper design and tech were used to increase the total destructive power all intelligent species lust after so, in the final battle, we can fully wipe out the galaxy or at least confront the Reapers on an equal footing, giving us the chance for a conventional victory.
(Okay, kidding about wiping out the galaxy but, if the choice is there, some WILL take it.)

With regards to how the series can progress....they seriously need to send someone in with a flamethrower first

Well I am of the personal opinion that the ending was one of the worst pieces of writing in gaming this year. It's pretty bad. But it's what we've got and best to just accept it now and move on.
I'm currently playing through the series again so that by the time I get to the extended cut, I expect I'll be more at peace with it.
In regards to the query - Synthesis simply can't be used. It quite definitively ends the setting in a way that makes it impossible to make a sequel with Control, Synthesis and Destroy as options. Synthesis needs considerably more assets created and a lot of thought into how to make it fit in with an overarching story that can also work in a post Control or post Destroy setting.
So the choices are either make Synthesis non-canon for Mass Effect 4 or only make prequels. And I expect most people don't want prequels.
Given that, they can make a story that isn't Reaper focused but has Control or Destroy as the background setting with maybe a side quest that follows up on Shepard's involvement with either controlling the Reapers or dealing with the remnants of a Reaper.
My main prediction will be that the Reapers will not be central to ME4.
Synthesis, however, fundamentally changes the setting in a way that would not translate well without pretty much being its own game. Given the controversial nature of that ending, I don't see Bioware being willing to put resources into such a project mostly because it is unlikely to be financially viable.
I'd say that the number of people expecting Synthesis to carry over into ME4 are a subset of the people who liked Synthesis. As such, they probably wont number enough to justify the amount of extra work Bioware would need to do to make it fit.

I dare you to spend $60 on another copy just to prove a point to a person who you probably won't hear from again in a few years.

What do you mean by canonized? The choice Default Shep makes?Or is it that no matter what ending you chose,Synthesis will replace it when you import your character into ME4?

Just this minute finished my first trilogy playthrough since the game was released...and it didn't really work for me tbh. Leviathan did somewhat lessen the blow though tbh I found. I was still dumbstruck though at everything after the beam.
With regards to my comment about BW realising how bad it is, I was really only referring to synthesis...I still believe Destroy can be saved(with a lot of work)....It will not be, but there is potentially enough there for a mod or fan-fic to at least salvage something.

It's unfortunate that so many people now look for any reason to hate Mass Effect.
I didn't look. It found me.
