How would you react if Bioware canonized Synthesis if they made a sequel?

For what it's worth, I believe Saren is an example of Indoctrination with a BELIEF in Synthesis being the correct choice. You're spot on about Grayson though.[/quote]

I can buy your idea of Saren. Especally since Shepard has the option of poking holes in his belief to the point of TKO. In Deus Ex 2, JC Denton is villainized for his Synthesis plan by the majority of the population.
Honestly, I just hope they retcon it all. All the ME3 ending have a crapton of restrictions and penalties. I can't see the Galaxy with X races being wiped out, and having a galay wide "unity" leaves no room for meaningful conflict without it getting silly.

First thing I would do would be to stop playing and sign into BSN so that I can witness the greatest, most angriest nerd range ever to hit the internet...or at least since the original endings to ME3 came out. It would be a glorious day.
After BSN is shut down completely by the mods, I would go back to playing my game.

They could explain Sythesis, basing it on in-game mechanics and logic that do not have to adhere to reality, but what's the point? If you call Sythesis space-magic, but have nothing to say for biotics, then yes, you are used to it.
Did you actually read my post? Like, at all? Biotics make perfect sense in-universe. The manipulation of mass effect fields via nodules in the users brain, amplified by small neural implants. Synthesis is a green wave of who-knows-what that instantaneously renders every single living organic being in the galaxy half-synthetic, disregarding any physiological or psychological differences in the species. It also gives synthetics the ability to "understand" organics. To top it all off, it resurrects dead people from literally nothing. F**k, even Lazarus required Shepard's biomass to bring him back, but Keiji Okuda gets a physical body from thin air. It's a physiological, metaphysical, and literally magical effect, all at the same time. Synthesis has zero reason to exist, and every reason not to.

Yes, I did. Did you read mine? Do you want me to bull**** an explanation for synthesis? I might need to do a little bit of reading, but I'm sure I could do it. Gravity works, yet we don't have an explanation for it. Are you going to start doubting gravity now, too?
Keiji doesn't have a physical body. Looked more like a hologram or something. I figure it's based on his memories, which is weird considering I trashed that greybox im ME2.

Go ahead. Make something up for Synthesis, I can refute it. Combined with Newton's laws and the theory of relativity, yes, we know how gravity works.
Keiji most definitely has a physical body, unless Mike Gamble is a liar.

I think that if they are going to do a sequel it should be set in the same time period as the Grandpa and the Kid post-credits scene where Shepard and the events of the Reaper War have faded into the stuff of legend. That would allow the usual ME rule of "all choices come to the same general result in the end" to continue. The problem with doing a sequel when the last game ended with such drastic changes to the universe is what Deus Ex: Invisible War ran into, and their solution was to have a combination of all three endings happen.

I gave M.E the finger back in July. So no, I really don't gave a damn about M.E what so ever. So go ahead Bioware and EA, destory what is left of M.E.
Yet your on here talking about mass effect? Uhhh so you care a little bit..
For the record I vaule your opinion!

Really? How? Last I knew it involved bending spacetime, but they couldn't explain how it accomplished that bit.
Huh, I'm just missing all sorts of information today, aren't I?...So who's Mike Gamble?
High-energy wave. Immediate pulse transmutes some existing fibers into biotech while restructuring DNA to naturally build and maintain organic technology within the body.

Kick 'em while they're down. Way to be a man.
And not everyone considers it a failing.

The theory of relativity involves the bending of space/time. Gravity is a component of the theory of relativity, but they aren't the same thing. I've never heard or read that gravity involves bending space/time.

One of the producers at Bioware. He worked on the core game, the EC, and Leviathan. Not sure about Omega or the upcoming DLC.
Edit: Note to self: don't try to reformat a quote on the iPhone.

Not that I don't believe what I read on the internet, or anything... but can anyone provide a source for this idea that Synthesis is somehow Bioware's "pet" ending?

And how does it do this? We've not seen anything in the ME universe that can cause anything even close to what you're describing. (In case you're not aware, current ME lore involves nanoites and quantum entanglement. Rather like the Borg, when you think about it.)

No, you missunderstand. Gravity is the result of bending spacetime. We just don't know exactly how mass accomplishes the bending part.

Oh, good source, then? Hmm...No, he looks like pyreflies or something. Do you have the source on hand?
