Multiple mandatory LGBT companion characters per game?

I understand having the option for s/s options in some capacity (i.e. kelly chambers and other non essential characters)  and yes even the occasional companion character but there now seems to be a mandatory incorporation of multiple lgbt companion characters per game. To me this just seems like an unprecidented level of catering to the lgbt community. No other minority sub group I can think of is caterered to like this. In two games the Dragon Age has had 6 lgbt yet not one none white companion character has made an appearence. Even in mass effect the number of lgbt characters far out number non white human ones. Frankly while i would like to see this happen at some point i don't think it should be mandatory that every game have multiple non white companion characters just as i don't think it's necessary to have mandatory lgbt companion characters (even thought this is clearly already the case). I don't see this trend ending any time soon but i do hope bioware eventually finds time to cater to more than just homosexual minority interests.

Oh look, it's *this* thread again.

Can I save you all some time?

- They didn't explicitly say they were bisexual, so they aren't!
- Not all bisexuals declare that they are!
- It's not realistic!
- Nothing is realistic!
- They should make exclusively gay romances!
- They said they won't make exclusively gay romances!
- Sexuality is a huge part of every character!
- Sexuality is not a huge part of every character!
- My immersion!
- *My* immersion!!!
- I have a great idea! They should put in a toggle for those who dislike homosexual content! I'm a genius!
- LOCKDOWN

PS. Isabela is most emphatically not white.

Thedas is inspired by Europe. Do you honestly care if there's no black/Asian/Latino/etc party members? It doesn't mean BioWare is racist. I'm not even white and it doesn't bother me.

What bothers me is people thinking gay/lesbian characters are being shoved down their throats when they're not.

I think they should cater to me, and get rid of all of them completely.
Also: Too obvious, you need to dapple my man, dapple.

If you can find an excuse to include  at least two gay/bisexual companion characters per game than i don't think it would be that hard to justify including non white characters in an entirely fictionaly land whether it's based on europe or not.

Isabela isn't white

and

including options for GLBT isn't catering, it's including.

Str8ties get all the companions they want- all the ones that GLBT can have, AND exclusively straight ones (as per DAO and ME1).

So knock it off already. You're like a child pitching a fit because mommy told you you have to be nice to the other kids. A character being an OPTION for someone else doesn't effect you one tiny bit.

The lack of people of color in Thedas was a limitation of the engine. It rendered dark skin very poorly. The Frostbite engine handles darker pigmentation better, so we'll probably see more variety of melanin levels in DA3. So bring on the LBGT companions!

OP, do you not realize that every single NPC in Origins was gay? Arl Eamon, gay. He and Teagan have had a thing for years while Isolde and Eamon maintain the pretense of their marriage. Isolde sneaks down to the village every night to spend time with the Reverend Mother. The subtext is all there. Why do you think Eamon a. married late and b. only has one child?

As for Orzammar, there's a very good reason why the dwarven birthrate is in a death spiral. Branbka and Hespith were just more open about it. Let's just say that the animosity between Behelen and Harrowmount was on a more personal level than would appear at first blush. Once Bhelen discovered Brother Burkel, that was it for the high profile couple.

How you ignored Anora and Cauthrien with the evidence staring you in the face is amazing. The only straight NPC in all of DAO is Erlina and she's hung up on Loghain, who wants nothing to do with her because he's in mourning over Cailan.

Why would Bioware give up on a proven relationship formula to cater to you own personal desires?

LMAO.

I don't even care about this series but I see this as the last recently discussed topic on the forum overlay and wow. I actually feel bad for bioware having to deal with people like OP.

Strangely it seemed like Sten was originally supposed to be black based on the Sacred Ashes trailer. Shame they changed him for the game and as we know they completely overhauled the Qunari in general since then. I think they could easily include non white companions if they wanted to. I wouldn't mind. It would be nice to include various kind of minorities and not just one type

I forgot about Sebastian in DA2, but my male Hawke wouldn't touch choir boy with a ten foot pole until that option included breaking his religion along with his vows :bandit::whistle::devil:

Nothing the OP said justifies your rediculous name calling. Grow up

Sorry, this thread is a timebomb.

I understand if you feel that we should be sensitive to other minority groups as well. One advantage of LGBT is that it requires only writing in order to implement. It's "lower hanging fruit" so to speak.

Having said that, I am going to close this thread since I don't see much good coming of it.
