7.5/10. Pretty decent, but not rocking. High damage per bullet for a SMG means better performance against armor, short bursts and quick reload make for better caster support than the CSMG. Used it on my Krogan Adept, useful for getting into an enemy's face.

If you shoot from the hip, the recoil is negligible. It's only pretty decent if you go for headshots only.
Carry a back up for bosses.
Aye, the same conclusion I came to - just hipfire and pretend it's a Mattock/Phalanx and you can't go wrong.
I tend to use it with the AP barrel & ULM mods as a back up for casters, or AP & Mag if they can afford the weight.

Lowish. It was a pain to grind through with it to finish off the SMG challenge. I don't really like guns where you have to mash the trigger and the recoil is a pain for average damage. 4/10.

I used it with my drell adept to finish smg mastery and kill 2 birds on outsider. It's great for keeping 200% cooldown and pumping an ammo power into an enemy...pretty great for headshots in its class. I am not much for semi auto weapons, but this was quite good.

Definitely going with 7/10. It is good if you get the recoil under control and can pierce the majority of enemy armor, but those are big hurdles to get over.

Easily one of my least favourite weapons in the game. Poor damage and annoying to fire. 3/10

Meh. Would probably Only use it over the Shuriken or the Collector SMG and that's only because the collector SMG requires too much concentration on the ammo count for my liking - Only got it at level 2 or 3 at the moment though so we'll see. Much prefer the Hurricane and the Locust.

It's a decent SMG but Hurricane is better.

I don't like it. Though I've never understood the hate for the Incisor when the Hornet is just as bad with recoil, if not worse. SMG recoil system notwithstanding.

I only enjoy the weapon on classes I play aggressively, as recoil means little at close range. But since I generally prefer to fight from medium to long range, I don't use it much.
Now that SMG ULM works, it is an excellent secondary weapon if you are using unfamiliar one-shot weapons when going for N7 weapon medals.

I actually like this gun a lot on my Phoenix Adept; useful as something to fire between powers. I give it a 8/10.

Haha typical noob answer stop spamming me with your trollness.... I give it a 7/10 yes it has recoil but it does decent damage and weighs very little.

It's not a bad gun by any means. Thing is, there a so many better options than it in the same weight class that it gets easily forgotten.
Out of all smgs, I rate it a 7/10 for being good, but no where better than the hurricane, locust, or even the collector smg.
Out of all weapons, it gets a 2/10 for being absolutely useless compared to all the other guns that do similar things but better.

One of the more tolerable burst fire weapons.

SMG are most effective at short range (Thanks Captain Obvious!) and the recoil is practically zero when hip fired, but that limits it's range subsantially. There are many weapons that beat the Hornet on short distances, but with stability upgrades the gun improve a lot.

1/10, I hate clicky weapons.
The effectiveness of it is pretty high though, 7/10 or so I guess.

1) Hurricane 10/10
2) Collector SMG 7/10 (poor at lower levels)
3) Tempest 6/10
4) Hornet 5/10
5) all of the rest of the SMGs 3/10
The Hornet when hipfired isnt accurate enough to be used at much range beyond that of the shotguns (10 meters ingame?), and aiming down the sights is a problem NOT because of the high recoil but because of the fact that its burst fire + high recoil, making it very difficult to find a level of control that can be found with weapons like the Revenant, Tempest, Hurricane, and similar fully automatic weapons. Those fully automatics make it possible to eventually find that "sweet spot" on your controller/mouse which can keep the weapon on target when firing, while the Hornet is constantly bouncing up and down when firing making it tough to find that same sweet spot... not to mention you're having to juggle that while mashing the trigger at the same time.
Honestly, they need to drastically lower the recoil to almost non existent levels, or buff the base damage so the recoil is worth the effort in terms of damage rewards (similar to the Hurricane).
All of the SMGs were definitely improved once the High Velocity Barrel was released, as they were never suitable above Silver due to Gold/Platinum armor damage reduction and the vast increase in armored enemies.
Most SMGs and Assault Rifles still need buffs though.

It's an 8/10 as long as you use a Stability Module. I don't get why some people hate on it so much. It's honestly a very nice caster gun.

A lot of people seem to love it, but I've never really liked it. I think that's mainly attributed to the Hurricane being in a class all by itself when it comes to SMGs, so my opinion of others is a bit jaded. I was lucky to level mine up to VI very quickly (although I havent gotten another upgrade in a comm pack for months), so I've never had a reason to use another SMG outside of doing the challenges. Also, spamming the trigger to kill things is never my idea of fun.
