Not really, I try not to develop expectations based on what is being released on social media or a simple one line comment because they can be interpreted so many different ways and then get blown up to unrealistic proportions.

I have to admit I wasn't a big fan of Dragon Age 2, but I enjoyed it more then other games I played in the past and its the same with Mass Effect 3, especially considering they incorporated aspects of the game that I felt were missing. Yes the original ending was a letdown, but the Extended Cut made up for that to me, because that was much closer to the ending I was expecting.

I only have one expectation from any game that I buy and other game companies have been unable to deliver to that expectation and that is that I want a game that is playable on Day 1 and I am not prevented from playing the game until they release a patch for it.

I've never played a Bioware game I didn't like. I really enjoyed DAII despite what other people might say, even with the flaws present. And I know that DAIII is very likely to be better than DAII

This. Even with EA forced multiplayer DA3 will be good I liked DA:O and DA2 yes it was dumped down much but still it was good game. And lead writer of DA3 is same as previous games.
P.S just don't expect much from ending and enjoy game.

My expectation is that DA:I will be better than DA2, but not nearly as good as DA:O. Bioware knows that mistakes were made in DA2 and they will take great measures to correct those particular mistakes.

Having a fixed human only protagonist to me kills some of what makes a role-playing game great. While I understand why they need to do that with a voiced character, it still feels like it diminishes the game to me. I did MANY playthroughs of DA:O and each of my characters felt unique, like the story was being played out in parallel universes. In DA2, all of my playthrough feel pretty much the same, cause I am still only one character.

The story and characters in DA2 were top notch, but there were choice made in implementation I just didn't like. The combat speed where everyone moved around on rollerskates, non-mages teleporting all over the place, bodies exploding like they were hit with an artillery round rather than dagger, multiple waves of paratrooper bandits falling from the sky. Those were issues that I HOPE Bioware realize were mistakes and will correct in DA:I.

Oblivion was the game that made realize never to get your expectations for a game too high, so I don't worry that DA:I will be bad, I just try to keep my expectations lower. I find games much more enjoyable that way.

Not really.

After DA2 and ME3 I expect a mediocre, rushed action game, with plotholes the size of yawning chasms. So, if it's a good game, I'll be positively surprised.

:huh::sick:

Worried is too strong of a word, I expect it to be of the same quality as their last couple games.  However, I know they are capable of doing better, I try to strangle my hope that they will, but it's hard not to have some faith in teams that have put out so many great games in the past.

Not really since i have exceptionally low expectations already. Don't know much about the title yet either so don't have that many reasons yet to feel anything about the title

Ofcourse not, if it turns out bad then I will take it for what it is and then move on. Plenty enough other games out there.

:innocent: I kinda edited Pinky's original post. Also to add to what you said people should wait until there's actual gameplay vids before dooming & glooming about dev comments.

I'm not worried, but I'm going to check the reviews when it comes out. We know that it had more development time than DA II, so the result may be better..

I loved Dragon Age Origins and liked Dragon Age 2 even better. Everything I've heard in regards to DA:I has been positive in the most part - the "human only" thing being the only sliiiight exception - and I have zero worries with the capablities of the DA writing team. I can't waaaait!

[EDIT] I'm definitely pre-ordering, and will spend the extra $$ to get a special edition if it's available.

I'm not sure "worried" is the term i'd use, but my expectations are rather low at the moment. The small amount of information that has been released by Bioware has been rather disappointing. (no race selection) I can only hope that info released in the future will be of a more positive kind.

Worried?

I spend each waking hour in a state of perpetual fear. The anticipation is taking years off my life.

You look more festive than worried. =]

If there's a smile on my face, it's only there trying to fool the public, but when it comes down to fooling you -- honey, that's quite a different subject. Don't let my glad expression give you the wrong impression.

Really, I'm sad.

I'm sadder than sad.

I'm worried that DA:I will be so different that I won't enjoy it, but I will roll with the punches.

If I had a dollar for each hour of sleep I've lost over agonizing on how DA:I will turn out my purse would still be empty. I plan on dancing a jig of despair over all my dashed hopes and expectations. Really. Sometime really soon.

No, I have a bit of faith. They are spending more time on this game for a start.

I am sure the story and characters will be great.

I was only able to play 9 hours into Dragon Age II before deciding I'd given it enough of a chance for me to enjoy it. So at the least Dragon Age III can't be any worse for me. If it's about the same quality, then I'll just do something else.

My experience was very similar and I do agree that it can't get any worse. My question is how much better will it be compared to DA 2.

I still have some faith in Bioware, even if it's dwindled a lot since DA: O and ME 1, ME 2.
They have shown that they can learn from mistakes, with ME 3 being somewhat a mix of what was good in both previous titles.

At least DA: I won't be the ending of a trilogy or anything like that  (that was mean, but I couldn't resist :innocent:)

I believe that they don't have a choice anymore.

After DA2, SWTOR and Mass effect 3 ending most of the loyal players (including me) are no longer saying Insta buy anymore. For the first time ever players lost confidence in Bioware and now we are waiting to see reviews prior to buying.
That in itself is a slap in the face to Bioware and only thing that can return them to good graces with player community is to make their next game (which is obviously DA3) atleast as good a game as were their original hits (DA:O, ME1 and 2, KOTOR, BG series) or players will start avoiding Bioware games.

One bad game can be forgiven, two also... but failure of ME ending was a slap to community face (We all remember the Now buy more DLC final message we got in the game... Game whose ending at the time made no sense at all), well guess what, community is slaping them back with review expectations prior to buying the game.
