It would be a perfect (and kind of uncanny) continuation of my personal game if it's Allistair, considering that my warden went off to rebuild the order with him.

That gets me thinking. And this might be just me but I'm kinda peeved that you can't choose to bring other old characters along (NPCs like Allistair or Liliana or the Dog) with you into an Xpac of the game. I mean, I know it might be difficult to make the expansion that flexible and *some* people get bored and want all new NPCs to play with but... well, I just want what I want I guess. lol

Hey Bioware: In the future, not all of us want new NPCs in the expansions. We get kind of attached to the old ones. I mean, you do write some fun, interesting NPCs! Any chance of getting the option to bring along an old friend or two (of *our* choosing)? Put your time and energy into creating more content and all that but not necessarily new companions. I mean, who dumps all their friends for a whole new set every time they do something new? You might meet new people but you don't dump the people you like. I can see a totally new set for a totally new game but this is the same game world. Thanks for considering it anyway.

Ok, rant over.

I'm hoping the returning character is dependent on what your final save game was.

Dog doesn't return? How you gonna explain that?

Turns out dog is a girl and someone got her preggers?

Well, big breeds don't usually live all that long (seriously, mastiffs and danes are considered old at eight years), and Dog is already fully grown by the time we meet him, so depending on how long after the original campaign this is set...

That's a very interesting idea which I had not thought of before...what if your favorite companion. Was the one you had the hightest rating with. What if Bioware can't tell you the name of the Companion, because it depends upon your final choice, interesting.

As I read more articles. I think that the Dragon Age 2, will be pathway for Morrgian's return. I will not to be sad if I don't see her in the next DLC. That leaves the question in Dragon Age 2 if you did have a romance with her, would you be able to export that save to your current and affect your storylines.

Obvious answer is yes, with star wars 1 to star wars 2, that wasn't so. In Mass Effect 1 to 2, it is possiblie. IMO, I think the child with soul of an old god if you accepted the ritual or not. Was the ending for the next big thing in Dragon Age.

It's certaintly going to be a busy year..star wars mmo..mass effect 2..dragon age DLC content...I am happy :)

Hmm. I think that Oghren is the most likely to return. As much as I'd rather Zev, Leliana, Alistair, or Morrigan over him, I wanna say its Oghren.

true but keep in mind in most of our endings, our companions went off to do different things. the only ones really remained with us is alistair for obvious reasons, and oghren. it could be dependent on that but i doubt it will be thatt customizable. So in the sense that most party member's went there own way and do have their own lives, it makes sense that you'd be recruiting new people. Not to mention you're rebuilding the order, so you're off trying to take care of that, you can't expect everyone to just be like "okay i'm gonna go with you!" most of the companions joined you to help stop the blight, the blight is now over so i'd assume companions would go off back to their lives or address other personal things. Who knows? It's wayy to early to begin speculation honestly. Until it's closer to release all we can do is wait really. :P

That's totally true but as games become more advanced, I would like to see this possibility. People will expect more. Look how far we're come since Pong. If we ended Origins by adventuring with Alistair and our Dog, let them be party options in the Xpac. If we went off with Leliana, have her be a party option in the Xpac. Honestly, the developers at Bioware more than anywhere else seem capitalize on creating addictive NPCs. Why invest all that energy if they're only going to be replaced? Why not instead give your writers a field-day and let them go nuts creating more in-depth, longer story-lines for their favorite NPCs that extend into Xpac content?

I mean, I have no idea. They may have already done this in which case I will do a quiet little happy dance and play Awakenings with glee.

well, many people say Oghren because he's or someone looks like him is in the trailer, but let's pretend we never saw it, who would you put your bet on?

I actually rather like the idea that the one returning is the one you set off with at the End,in which case for me it is

Archer: looking for Morrigan

Mage: looking for Morrigan

DW War: Stayed in Denerim with Leliana

2h War: Adventuring with Leliana

I want Leliana back dangit.

I doubt all the companions will return. Because it means they would have to write lots of new dialogue for all of them.

well it looks like alistair is king, so i assume the reason he can't or probably isn't a party member for long is because he gets called off to the HQ in the anderfels...

I've seen a few responses from bioware people, and from everything I can tell, you can't make assumptions based on a trailer, as a trailer can't possibly show you all the different outcomes.

Good riddance to old PC's, I've heard all their stories till there was nothing left to talk about. Bring on the new ones dammit!

And with his power, we shall enchant our weapons to new heights!

I'm with Torilund. I really liked my crew and I want them. I'm already bummed that ME 2 will be making my Shep leave her buddies in the dust. I find this all so confusing. After all, in BG2 we got to stick with the same companions throughout the game, and I, for one, did not get bored with them. In fact, I loved seeing how they continued to evolve over the course of the BG2 saga as a whole.

Besides, I intend to take my human noble PC into the XP and it's not going to make a whole lot of sense for the queen of Fereldan to be running around fighting darkspawn without Alistair.

"We cannot risk him, Your Majesty. King Alistair is simply too important to be running around engaging in life-or-death battles with the darkspawn. Your Majesty, on the other hand, is completely dispensable. Good luck!"

They probably gonna do what they did in Knight of the Old Republic 2 (if it was them...), they made you a new character and you meet this character of the first game and you had to answer questions... about who lived, died, how did it end.

For me, Grey Warden Male Human Mage Arcane/healer leaving to run after morrigan

Alistair is king

Morrigan left with the baby

Sten left for his homeland with a oath to come back to me

Revan is leaving with me for adventure

Leliana left on her own for Sacred Ashes

Wynne stay at the court

golem left

Oghren parted ways like brothers (over alcohol)

So for me i want the elven assasin and morrigan back as playable, with others as NPC lol. The expansion look promising, i hope its better than DA:O who for me was a World of Warcraft for soloing only... no Baldurs Gate successors, felt too short and not enough freedom (like jumping from quest to quest and it was too obvious). PS: Bigger cities map, more areas, more spell, and 6 NPC controlable.

Hah, I bet that "the old friend" will be...Duncan. Possible..."darkspawn Duncan". Maybe he`s an Architect...but maybe I`m paranoid :-)

I think, but not sure. From articles about her whole situation that she is set up for dragon age 2. I believe her story would too big to be told in an expansion. However I am not certain on that. While myself I am hopefull for the same, I will be thinking the new companion is..well it's too many to tell.

Who is your favorite is your own taste. interesting to see who Bioware believes it may be. I think it will fit the storyline perfectly
