Would a bald variant be possible?
I do consider this a fair bit more impressive and material effort than what BW came up with, but the hair, something originally only provided by the image in the vanilla game, makes her look a tad too 'human', in my view.

After doing some thinking about it, I think perhaps for the final version of the "hooded" unmasked Tali model, that perhaps she should still have the sides of the helmet present under her hood? After all, it's not her entire helmet that's being removed in the Rannoch scene, just her helmet's front visor (plus it would also hide her noticable human ears as well).
EDIT: Thanks to suggestions from MrFob on editing objects in pcc files using ME3 Explorer, I'm now able to remove that "fade to black" camera effect from the end scene of the final Rannoch mission, which is going to make my composting work much MUCH easier to do.

There's still a lot of work to do on it (even on the first frame, cause you can still see part of her mask on the left side of her hood), but hopefully you guys will get to see the finished results in 2-3 days.
Granted, this is still done through normal video editing/composting and no one has been able to intergrate the Tali model into the actual game yet (not sure where SlipperyHammer is on his experiments on that), but it does represent what I think a lot of people hope to eventually see as the end result for these types of mods.

Nice...thought I would make her face smaller.
It looks bigger than when she has a mask on.

Please don't get offended, but I would like to put some constructive criticism, which is my opinion, but as a video editor I appreceate it better before than after:
Her head/face indeed does look a bit oversized. The face color (being almost neutral grey) strangely picks up very little reddish-orange glow from the planet's light and it feels like there is almost no facial emotion in the eyes and forehead. A little impalpable smile might do wonders in my opinion.
And to show my support, I made a few banners, which I suppose should be linked to this thread, not sure which one is better, but I prefer 2 and 3 (opinion please

Again, there's still a long of work to do before this video is finished (and as you can see, the update to her face's color tone also affected the tone of her neck's suit area, which will now have to be corrected).
Adomas: The animation was based off of SlipperyHammer's Rannoch animation (he sent me the animation files along with the Tali model) - the frame taken in the pic has her speaking in mid-sentence, so maybe that's why it looks slightly off to you, but his animation of her was somewhat subdued (although she does smile at the end of her sentence, so she's not devoid of emotion).

Thanks for explaining that. Makes a lot more sense now
Smaller head looks a lot better, more proportional, and as important - it makes sense so as to fit inside the helmet.
I feel that this picture has a very good proportion done (in terms of fitting inside the helmet):

Also, in the totally ripped-off clip art, she has a bit more color. she isn't totally pale, yanno?

i agree in thinking that her head is too big. Just neds to be a bit smaller where you can start to see her hair, then it will be perfect.

Even pale people have SOME degree of different tones of red in the skin - mainly highlights. Unless they're dead - and even then the skin has a blue undertone.

The ME fans that romanced her in the second game and onward always had a feeling that she was a cutie under that mask, and chose her due to her adorable personality and loyalty.
What I am saying is, how cool would it be to reward the Tali-faithful by having her be cuter than the other romance options that were obviously outwardly cute, you know what I mean?
I just think you would be better off modeling her off of the fan art posted above.
While people would love to see her face, why go through all the trouble to give a face to such a LOVED character if it isn't very appealing to look at?

I am trying to base her skin tone off of the one shown in the EC slide of the female quarian, which was shown to be more neutral grey:MACharlie1 wrote...

Reason I'm using that as reference instead of the Tali'shoped photo that BW made is two-fold:
1. The EC slide was produced later than the Tali photo and, I believe, represents the final word on what quarians really look like under their visors (the male quarian, who was cropped out of this pic, also had a grey skin tone as well).
2. The artists at BW who photoshop'd the Tali, frankly... they f***ed-up the tone/s of the skin by trying to recreate realistic colored shadowing on the face (and failed horribly at it), so I don't regard it as being the best representation of quarian skin tones.

Wow - I just stumbled onto this amazing thread a few days ago and I can’t believe how much hard work has been done!

So here is what I was trying to do with this model:
Mesh: I tried to mimic the proportions of the facial features on that lovely fan art above (so rounder face + more upturned eyes and lashes etc.) but also match that to the silhouette of her nose and forehead that we can see in Bioware’s mesh. The mesh is small enough that her face fits inside the mask except for her hair (but I always imagined that it sort of falls out a bit when she takes her mask off
Textures: I really liked the idea of a pink/purple skin for Quarians (I know it's not cannon and maybe just it’s subconsciously from Tali’s suit but I can’t imagine her with any other skin colour
Stuff To Change: I need to adjust her hair colour from absolutely pitch black to match her eyebrows. And about those eyebrows…I’m currently not so sure if Jack’s style suits her…what do you guys think?
I know that there are definitely still other problems as I was messing about with the textures before I did this render…hence the weird stuff going on inside her mask.
ANYHOW (this wall of texts ends soon...I promise

This is the shot of Tali that Shepard sees as his last though if she's his LI. In case you don't know it this is not made in-engine, but a pre-rendered bik.video. Easily replacable with anything you want. Like, for example, a quick shot of Tali withouth the helmet smiling at Shep... which would also make more sense than the normal shot, since I doubt that Shep when he thinks about Tali thinks about the bucket instead of the face behind it, right?
It'd be not much, especially since most of the people playing modded ME rolls with the MEHEM but... well... at least there'd be the option for who wants it right?

Hiya fellow Tali fans!
Wow - I just stumbled onto this amazing thread a few days ago and I can’t believe how much hard work has been done!Your amazing efforts (along with the source mesh and textures SlipperyHammer generously provided – thanks!
) inspired me to try creating a face for Tali based on the adorable fan-art above as it seems like SlipperyHammer and AVPen were already covering the Bioware version pretty damn well!
Anyhow…here is my little attempt (please ignore the terrible photoshop skillz – haha!):
<......>
Cool, more Talis (or Talae?) coming
Sorry for pointing it out, but Tali doesn't just remove the visor, she takes her whole mask off which leaves pretty much only a rear part of her helmet and a thing under her chin.

I believe this brings a big dilemmaI agree with you here.. a lot, but I still think she should be based at least to some degree from the canon picture and Kohistani, who I find very hard to see as cute and even harder to imagine as Tali, but I believe, that once AVPen and SlipperyHammer finish their creations - and we get to see Tali in action, this might change quickly. Making the head smaller and adjusting the facial structure a little probably would result in a cute, close to canon model. Or it may be the eyes, that we are just not accustomed to.

Edit: Finally found somethingI give it for your judgement
And I know the hair should not be there, I just gave up trying to leave her bald, as quite a lot of her head gets visible.. The main face correction that I did was raise her lower jaw up and reduce the head a bit more... Oh and I gave her a smile.. somewhat
This is amazing!!! Now it feels JUST RIGHT. You blended the pale, and pink/purpleish color so well. Stayed cannon, but still made her look very cute. I MUST have this. Immediately for a music video project!!!
