Regarding her implant's. Would it be worth considering altering the colour/texture to give them a different look? Silvery for example. Or with silver dot's to indicate contact points. They could maintain a black outline with a central silvery core running through them. Or some material that catches the light. Carbon ceramic honey comb for example. Atm the hair and the implant's are so similar in colour that in the past I mistook them for WoW style Elven eye brow's on top of the more human eye browage.

She's mostly rigged up, and should be ready for a very early test soon.


But before you all get too excited there's a bit of a snag... 
The main problem is that according to the ME3 Explorer page, the new file have to be the same size (or less) of the original file.

Original is 407kb, mine is 616kb... Posted Image

Can someone here confirm if this is the case? I've had no luck so far (but then again, I might be doing it all in the wrong order).
Meanwhile I will see if some tweaking can be done, and who knows, I might be able to reduce the file size.

I know there's a current issue in the mesh import where one of 500 edges is flipped on import for some bizarre reason, but that we should still be able to "test" it in-game to see if it's functional, works, etc. and just ignore the glitches until they figure that bit out.

There's size limitations often in DLC authorization, but the sequences where this would be use isn't DLC. I wonder why it has to be less.

I'll the ME3 Explorer people for details later.

There should be two versions for this mod, one with Tali's face somewhat visible when her mask is on, and another where it is closer to how it is in game normally, but with the custom face barely visible instead.

To be honest, I never really wanted to see anyone elses intepretation of tali's face. Not even bioware's. I had already created a picture in my own mind of it, and that was mine. All someone else's interpretation does is convolute that.

I'll be honest, I am not a fan of the grey skin, I think I've grown too accustomed to her having pink/purple skin.

I think going with the purple skin and rationalising the grey skin seen in the ECDLC slides as different ethnic diversity is the way to go here. Grey Tali look's part plague victim part zombie.

Also. The grey loses the viewer's focus on her eye's, being part toned in with them. And sitting her face in a rich colour frame of her suit just somehow makes her seem......... underwhelming.

That said, I'd suggest experimenting with shade's of grey and see if a darker tone would work. Just to see if grey has possibilities. Right now though I'm for the purple/pink skin.

I would go purple as default, offer grey for those who want it.

I kind of like the grey as it is, but that's just personal taste. I'd pick purple too with the ethic diversity explanation. Too burned into my mind.

Just been going over my colour wheel and to see what the contrasting and complementary colour scheme is for purple.

Also took a look at Tali's hood. Specifically the grey tone it has in it's fabric. I'd suggest going darker for the grey face model so it is darker than the darkest tone contained in her hood.

The problem with grey is that it has no complementary colour's. Just contrast in the shade's used. In the case of the grey face's Tali I think a shade that act's to highlight her eye's would be a good approach. We've seen those eye's glowing through her helmet every game. A darker gey tone would serve to accent them with her mask off.

And thanks for popping this latest treat in our stocking........ if we had stocking's in this thread. Which I may ask BW to add in their emoticon's for next christmas............ I'm digressing.

The latest pic's of Tali with her darker skin tones immediately provide higher contrast. If I had to pick I'd say that No.2 is the best as it provide's the eye's with the draw power they need, without darkening the skin down to a point where it is difficult to make out her features, eye lashes and such......

I still prefer the pink/purple skin, but no.2 PreVis Tali show's the grey skin can work for the character as well.

Thanks for all the work you've put into realising her in game form.

Have to admit, no1 does convey a younger looking Tali than the others. The problem for me is that the skin tone is too similar to the emissive eye's which are one of her defining features. (They must be great for reading at night with the light off).

One way around this could be to darken the skin around the eye's.

Grey, hmmmm! Looks somewhat like a dead person's skin. And purple? The only in-game image of her has a very light "caucasian" skin colour. If anything, there is only a super-slight hint of purple in there.
Just my 2 cents, though. I'm not a Talimancer, just found the images interesting and well-done. So if you Tali fans like her better this way, you count more here ;).

Out of the three grey versions you created I would say your original is the best; number two is not far behind though.

Like FlyinElk said, I am impressed at how quickly things are moving along. Still not quite sure exactly what is trying to be done with this; interesting none the less.

Is the goal to mod the last scene on Rannoch to include this model? Or is it to create a sort video clip with the newer model?

Overall very nice work and I look forward to an update. And if I could help somehow I would not mind.

The ultimate goal is to try and step by step get the pieces working for it to be put into the in-game cutscene normally. (An great video clip could be made with it too, though.)

Having an awesome model is a good fundamental start - without the SlipperyHammer's model/work, you can't really *do* much even if you get all the technical bits working.

A lot of it is generating interest/ME3 Explorer getting more dev time.

I have never used ME3 explorer for anything more than replacing bink videos and audio files. Never did have any success with changing the cabin music.

If I understand it correctly ME3 explorer is eventually supposed to be a fan made UnrealEd correct?

How long ago did you use it? It's improved a lot recently.

I'm not familiar with UnrealEd, but yeah, the general idea it's supposed to ultimately have a level editor, etc. once it's all working right.
