UPDATE 2:
Searched on Twitter, Manveer says it's 100% fabricated interview lol:

twitter.com/manveerheir/status/279287073033302016
"I have seriously, in all my years, never heard of a totally made up
interview being posted. I've seen misquotes but 100% fabricated?! Crazy"

So unless someone else says something different, that's settled then

--------------------------------------

UPDATE: Eurogamer asked EA about the interview and EA said that one of the BW employees gave it: www.eurogamer.net/articles/2012-12-12-bioware-mass-effect-4-due-late-2014-to-mid-2015 However, the interview was now taken down because, as GamerSyndrome says: "The information provided previously by the author of this post was deemed to be obtained from an inaccurate source and NOT an official Bioware or EA interview response." So honestly I have no idea anymore whether it's real or not, whether part of it are real or not. Bioware should give an official word.

--------------------------------------

I'm... surprised this hasn't been posted yet? Probably everyone missed it. An interview from a week ago (Dec 5):
gamersyndrome.com/2012/video-games/gamersyndrome-talks-with-bioware-about-the-mass-effect-series/

tl;dr most important parts:
- ME4 not out until late 2014 to mid 2015, very rough release window, full developement started a month/two ago, Casey Husdon and other people from Edmonton very involved; more info will be revealed in 2013
- Bioware has some "plans" regarding Wii U and just as with PS3, "Never Say Never" when it comes to full Mass Effect Trilogy not being released on Wii U
- more DLC to come, next one has 8 writers etc (we knew that already), more info will be released in the coming weeks, no answer whether that's the last DLC though, may not be but Bioware says that we're getting to the point where they won't be releasing as much DLC for ME3 as before

If this DLC doesn't live up to the hype of 8 writers and Sam Hulick, I'll be sad.
Interested in seeing what direction they will take with ME4

Didn't saw this. Thank you IsaacShep.
More info about next ME only next year. Well this was expected.

From what is said in the interview i get the feeling they have plans for at least one more after the current DLC they are working on.

interesting, thanks. I wonder what really prompted the change to frostbite 2 over say, the familiar unreal engine (4). At least this confirms a next-gen game experience.

Probably the fact that EA owns Frostbite and licensing 3rd party engines costs like $1+ million. Not THAT much compared to overall budgets of AAA games like ME or DA, but still. Plus, having in-house engine means faster and better support. And DICE has one of the very best technical teams in the industry, so EA probably wants to make full use of the available assets rather than licensing stuff from 3rd parties

The more development time - the better. Late 2014 will result in even more rushed game then ME3 was, since they have to tweak with a new engine and new ME studio having less manpower.

True, but if they're already saying "late 2014/mid 2015", then it definitely means the game will not release earlier than mid-2015/late-2015 in the end. Delays always happen, especially with next-gen projects.

So ME4 would have more time of development then ME3?

Yay...

Oooh that's exciting. I like the new DLC information in the next couple of weeks.

And late 2014 (more likely 2015) works well for me. DA3 sometime in late 2013/mid 2014 and then ME4 a year or so later? I'm excited.

GS: Since Shepard’s story is over, is there anything you wish was different or wanted to add into the original Trilogy? Whether it was multiplayer in Mass Effect 2 or missions or ideas that didn’t make it into the final products.

BioWare: We are proud of what has been released and the fan base reaction to the games. In any game from any video game company, there’s always things that you look back and say, could we have changed this? Could we have added that? One of the mission ideas that got scrapped was actually going onto Palaven, the turian home world, and being able to see what their world was like. We also scrapped the original ending for Mass Effect 3. We were gonna have it as a “boss battle”, where Commander Shepard would go up and fight The Illusive Man who has been transformed by The Reapers. We scrapped that idea because way too many [games] have that as their ending, some final boss fight. Ultimately, we are proud of the finished products in the Mass Effect series and stand by them.

GS: That actually sounded like it could have been cool to fight The Illusive Man like that.

BioWare: Yeah, it might have been but we wanted an ending that didn’t copy what other games have done before. So a boss battle wasn’t really where we wanted it to go.

GS: Now that another Mass Effect game has been announced, why was it decided to not only change studios (Edmonton to Montreal) but also to change game engines? Will we still experience the same style, choices, and action we’ve come to know in Mass Effect games? Does changing engines delay the games release date?

BioWare: While I can’t comment on why it changed studios, fans can expect a similar style of choices and action that they’ve come to know in Mass Effect. Casey Hudson is very much involved in the new Mass Effect game, as well as many from Edmonton. BioWare Montreal is a great studio and they did fantastic with the multiplayer for Mass Effect 3, so fans should know the series is in good hands. The game isn’t far along in development so I can’t comment on specifics because they isn’t any yet, Frostbite 2 is a really good game engine that we are also using on Dragon Age 3. As far as release date, there’s nothing to be announced yet. You’ll hear more about the new Mass Effect game [next year] in 2013.

...I just know that Stan will close this in a few hours...but this part of the interview?

Come on Bioware! Don't you have ANY finesse? :pinched:

You know exactly what split this community and still rattles many minds. You say you didn't want to copy other games but you did EXACTLY that and see where that got you...

(The above was discussed too many times for gameplay and the ending(s) so I won't go anymore into that.)

But the second part? Similiar style of choices?

Did NO ONE read the critisicsm about too much auto-diologue especially in the recent Omega-DLC?

Please believe me when I say that many people have their reservations if ME4 is "in good hands" when you mention the single person that got the most hate for everything ME3 related is "very much involved" AND the studio that got the most recent storm of critique produces the whole thing.

Hold up, who is the interview actually with?

Interesting information contained within and cheers for posting it, but it's a weird little transcription. "Alot of ones?"

I was wondering this as well. Maybe there's a guy at BioWare who's called BioWare, and that's how he got the job.

Apparently it's an e-mail interview set up by one of Bioware's employees: "GamerSyndrome would like to thank BioWare for answering our questions and also thank Andrew Wong, BioWare PR guy, for setting this interview up."

In case this is somehow totally fake, I'm sure Jessica or someone else from Bioware would let us know.

i know ive mentioned this before but this last dlc thats meant to tie everything together, will this be like that leaked stuff on reddit awhile back, that terminator storyline that was talked about months ago just after release. they were right about a variation of leviathan and omega.

to me the dlc's for me1 and 2 were just add ones, it expanded the universe and were good, me3 dlc however im that happy with, they are good dont get me wrong, but they feel too much like they needed to be part pf the story as if actually ripped from the story just for dlc, i mean would leviathan have given better understanding to the original endings? and omega was known to be ripped, they never added anything extra to the universe but they added to the ME story arc.

No prob, though I wouldn't count on E3 2013. If it's slated for late-2014/mid-2015, then I doubt they will reveal it earlier than at the VGAs 2013

Seems pretty rushed, we are talking about new engine AND hardware, Bioware is not Naughty Dog...
