I believe epic games gets paid for every copy sold.
But why change the engine now:blink:, I mean E.A. could've done that back in ME2, make it with Frostbite, no need to pay Epic.
You would have had to wait until next year for ME3. Plus, there may have been compatability issues with the save transfers. If thy swapped engines entirely.
Damn, E.A., but one has to wonder how ME3 would look like with 3-4 years of development.
I don't think ME games need to take 4 years.

Unlike many, I actually respect them for standing by what they produced. I agree with them in that TIM shouldn't have been a final action boss fight. It was fitting that you were given the ability to defeat him via your in-game and dialogue choices. This rings with what Bioware is all about: having your choices play out in a large manner. However, I disagree with scrapping the boss fight altogether. While you may be trying not to tread the same water as so many others, it seems a poor misstep to build up Harbinger all of ME2 actively and in an off-stage manner in ME3, only for Harbinger to do what it does in the end. The confrontation could have been so much more, but was simplified. Also, cutting certain scenes like Jack, the Geth, and etc on the battle field from the game didn't really make sense as it could have left the player with a reminiscent feeling to ME2's most widely popular mission. I'd clarify more, but unfortunately that'd wade into spoiler territory.

True. I was thinking if each one took 4 years it would take 12 years to complete the series.CptBomBom00 wrote...

Just out of morbid curiosity, why are people forgetting they have been talking about Mass Effect 4 since before the release of Mass Effect 3, so they probably have been developing the game for six to nine months by now and then two to three years for implementation, so probably at least a three year development cycle, seems to be what people are wanting. I am hoping its late 2015 by the time is released which should give them enough time to finish the game, but not too much time to over think it.
As far as why they are just going to FrostBite now, there are probably a multitude of reasons including they probably weren't part of EA when they started development of Mass Effect 2 and paid Epic for the use of the engine already and with Mass Effect 3 it probably was just less headaches all around because of imports and having to recreate everything from the ground up to be identical to what already existed, but of course there probably are additional reasons that I would never think of.
I am looking forward to the next DLC, for I enjoyed Omega, it just felt like it was missing something and I can't put my finger on what it is missing exactly.

...but if this DLC just focuses on Shepard living, closure and a butt-load of LI dialog, then I will be satisfied with the ME series. I feel like a flippin ghost that can't move onto the next life until I finish some task in this one. In this case being that I get that ending Shep deserves! T-T
Anyway, not wanting to turn this into another "ending" thread, I am glad that you came across this OP, I am happy to of read it. And I am super curious as to how the devs are even going to being thinking about a foothold in ME4 with such endings in ME3. *cough cough* Synthesis *cough cough*

I am more interested in hearing about DA3 and development details before we dive into ME4.
Now if its the fans talking about "what if" for ME4 then that is fine.

As for what I think of the Future Mass Effect game. Hmm well I won't try to hijack this thread but let it just be said that I've already posted a comment or two on other threads about how I think if done right a ME MMO could be an awesome game. However whatever direction it goes, I think that a sequel of sorts is the way to go based on the new Extended Cut DLC. Not to mention that they've opened a whole new can o' worms with the Leviathan DLC.
Maybe we'll have new reason to fear the dark corners of space.
Could we somehow witness the rebirth of the Reapers ? Or Perhaps something much, much worse...

Exploration and vehicles like Space, Sea, Air and land.
A character creator, playing any or main species.
Being able to import our Game Saves from previous games.
I hope we have many weapons, outfits and armor and prices as well.
Mass Effect DLC.
I like to see some content after the ending and new ending. I did like to see content and stories before as well. Maybe some DLC where we can play other characters?

It just feels so early to me. We are still dealing with DLC as it pertains to ME3. However, I understand my opinion is very much swayed in that I am not ready to move on quite yet.
