Well, BioWare/EA is known to have issues with its PR. ME3 pre-release developers' statements and remarks speak for themselves...

Which has already been discussed to death, thank you.

Yes discussed by the community, but not adressed, actually ignored by devs.
its a good reminder how not to behave pre/post-release..

Original GamerSyndrome article update: "UPDATED DECEMBER 12: This posting may have personal views of the interviewee and not necessarily the official response by BioWare itself."

This the sound of BioWare back-pedalling.

Why should they write this? Im shure it was Gamble. He didnt outright denied it. Though he could.

If Bioware wants to deny any specific info that came out from this article, they have million of super-easy ways to do it. Twitter, BSN, Facebook, official website etc. If they don't bother, they shouldn't complain if we're misinformed, we don't exactly have a crystal ball to know what Bioware employees think and what's actually true and what not.

No, it's the sound of GamerSyndrome backpedalling.

I said this on the first page, but with more conviction this time... notice that they don't name the interviewee.

Where is the link - on EA's page confirming this? All we have is some fishy claim that an - yet again unnamed "EA representative" told them it wasn't Gamble who did the supposed interview. The fact is Gamersyndrome makes up some lousy fake interview, tries to back it up by saying "but an EA official said..." and now it's of course all EA/BioWare's fault. Some people twist anything just to blame them. There is nothing more to it, not even a shred of official confirmation. Stop blaming this on EA/BioWare.

Take back what I said about BioWare back-pedalling, although that was how it appeared at the time.

That article take-down speaks volumes.

Eurogamer asked EA about the interview and EA said that one of the BW employees gave it: www.eurogamer.net/articles/2012-12-12-bioware-mass-effect-4-due-late-2014-to-mid-2015

"This interview has been removed. The information provided previously by the author of this post was deemed to be obtained from an inaccurate source and NOT an official Bioware or EA interview response. We apologize for the inconvinience."

One possibility is the author made it up, (datelines happen) and hoped nobody notice.
I know of some cases of faked interviews with celebritys.

Whatever! gamejournalism at its best. 10/10

GamerSyndrome either fabricated the entire thing or talked to someone off-the-record who now wants the article removed.

No one has come out and said the information is factually incorrect, just that it hasn't come from an officially-deemed "accurate" source.

Either way, that site's reputation just went down the toilet.

The entire gaming industry, including gaming press is doing a pretty good job of keeping video games from being taken seriously as a form of art. With nonsense like the VGAs(having paid promo spots and ridiculous sponsorships), the general quality of gaming journalism, and an attitude of "the consumers are manic children who's opinions shouldn't be taken seriously" among those in the industry and even segments of the consumer base the industry is floundering in this regard.

Searched on Twitter, Manveer says it's 100% fabricated interview lol:

twitter.com/manveerheir/status/279287073033302016
"I have seriously, in all my years, never heard of a totally made up
interview being posted. I've seen misquotes but 100% fabricated?! Crazy"

So unless someone else says something different, that's settled then

To be fair, most consumers did behave erraticly regarding this, so why should we take some of those opinions seriously when they are no better than a fanatical point of view that won't listen or reason? Or worse still, mis****rue opinions into facts, and assert subjectivity as objectively sound analysis?

But yeah, we need to definitly construct better prose and writing skills. And stop spreading lies like this.

I hope this helps, a full condemnation of this entire ordeal and how we need to get our act together as journalists.

This really did ****** me off, hopefully we can learn from this.  the optomistic in me is hoping, at least.

Now that the "coming weeks" DLC announcement is confirmed fake, I wonder when we will find out more about the new DLC...

You might want to change "PR head Mike Gamble" to "Mike Gamble, producer on the Mass Effect franchise" though. To my knowledge he is not PR, but very much involved in the production of all that is DLC :)

I always thought he was PR, based on his comments here. I did send a mail asking but no luck tonight.

Lemme change that. Just saw his twitter heading for the first time so i'll go with that then.

oh, for heaven's sake.

but then journalism coverage of real life events is pretty bad and full of lies, too. so, gaming journos don't have much to live up to.

and its not like this "interview" was earth shaking. but the "these ones" and noooo name of interviewee? was odd. but the info was so tame that I thought...
