I find her one of my least liked characters in Mass Effect..
I mean who the hell is Aria anyway? She's a numpty character that they gave too much importance to when it wasn't needed IMHO
In ME 3 she humiliates an official who is only asking her for her ID.. WTF?
Who is Aria and why does everyone grovel at her and not just shove her out an airlock?
Who the hell is Aria?

Horses for courses, she's one of my favourite characters: some great lines and I thought delivered well by Carrie Anne Moss. The scene you mention isn't Aria's best and the business with the official advances neither the plot nor the character, but IMO her being there at all is just another implausible plot element of ME3 (for reasons that are too spoilery). But fair dos, I'm certain that some of the characters I hate most are loved by other people.

She hasn't been airlocked because she's spent the last few centuries on Omega, where everyone's afraid of her, and when she had to leave Omega, she still had a lot of powerful people in her pocket like the Asari Councillor, Mercenary groups, and well...Shepard. Shepard could have easily shot her in the face the moment they made eye contact, but he didn't, because Aria's more useful to Shepard alive than dead. "Better the devil you know" and so on.
As to liking her. You're not supposed to personally like every character in a story, and different people like different characters for different reasons. Personally, I like Aria and The Illusive Man because they're not black and white and I find them interesting from an entertainment perspective. But I wouldn't really want to hang out with either of them. Similarly, I can't stand Kaidan or Ashley because they're both quite bland, but were I to meet them at a party I'm sure we'd get along fine. Especially with Ashley, especially if she was wearing that boob tube from the hospital cutscenes.

I'd be interested in finding out how she and Tevos are connected. There must be a reason Tevos was so co-operative with her.

I didn't really think that needed explaining, there's obviously some point where a powerful underworld figure like Aria is going to have business with public officials. Maybe Aria's done business with Tevos (dirty work, campaign contributions) and she owes a few favours, or maybe Aria has some information on her she doesn't want made public. Remember that Aria's spent most of her life out in the Terminus Systems, out of Council jurisdiction, so while shady, she technically isn't a criminal, but she has a lot of power, knowledge and connections that could be just as useful to a politician as they were to Shepard.
