Well, as it turns out - thanks to Maria Caliban's There should be a Despair Demon thread (as if she wasn't popular enough) - David Gaider has admitted that they've been thinking about adding new types of demons in DA3. See here:

David Gaider wrote...

We've actually discussed new types
of demons-- despair, in fact, being one of them. You should see at least
one new major type of demon in DA3.

So, what I would like to ask is, what new demons do you want to see in DA3? Be as creative as you like! Even describe how you'd want them to look, if you want.

Dhiro said, and I quote, "Demon of Interpretive Dancing, you've heard that here first folks. Tell your friends." So I'm telling all you forumites. Of course, most of you are completely insane, and I'd be equally insane to call most of you my friends, buuut, here it is!

I wanna see a Mute Demon. A demon who cannot speak, only think "Grrr. Argh." Abominations don't go "Grrr. Argh!" But demons sure do! Also, a Blind Demon, that - if they even make it to the mortal realm - only manage to stumble around, until they bump into a mortal, instantly killing them (even if it's like Hawke or the Warden), but no more permanently than any other demon (see Spirit Healers).

I like fear/despair except for the fact that fear and despair could quite easily come under the 'authority' of sloth. Being debilitating and immobilizing it would seem to be covered under sloth. I dont really think they need to add new demons just to add demons, but expanding the existing categories to be more diverse would be great.

Insanity daemon one that traps its victim within the fade while slowly making them lose their sanity so that they can assume control over the individual without any resistance.

It could also add a very dark section of the face where everything twisted and sinister.

How about a demon that you can actually trust? Since you shouldn't make a deal with a demon I find myself denying all they have to offer. I think actually dealing with a demon that actually kept their word would be great, thus making you think twice before rejecting a deal.

Not necessarily a new type of demon but a reasonable demon. Who's deals could be positive in either outcome.

Neeshka in NWN2 is partially a demon and she is even a party member.

A large boss-type demon like an Avatar of Khaine would be nice.

We already met the spirit of Valor in DA:O, so the opposite(corruption) of that; cowardice?

A demon trying to trap your mind in the fade by draining your fighting spirit?
Edit: Is that another one that can fall under sloth?

I'd prefer Sweet to Gnarl. At least there would be snazzy choreography (and maybe instead of mustard, we'll have songs about cheese).

As far as new demons go, I'm of the despair or fear demon camp. Something that cuts deep into the stuff of the nightmares that might be buried deep.

Oh my godness (godness is not a typo). How did I not think of that?

Anyways, I think a lot of "new" demons would fall under sloth. Maybe instead of new demon, make sub-demons. Despair and fear being a type of sloth, envy and lust would be a type of desire etc.

I'd really like a terror demon or something as well.
Mostly because I'm hoping for a really disturbing fade sequence that makes the PC go through their own personal hell.

I'd like a demon that we didn't have to fight conventionally, kind of like the Insanity and Despair Demon ideas.  It's attacks would be more insidious than mere brute strength, and would be harder to fight off or even detect.
If Dragon Age actually manages to showcase a form of indoctrination better than ME that would be pretty hilarious.

[EDIT] Insanity/Terror/Fear Demon = Dragon Age-style Silent Hill level.  zomg yes please.
