 Like in Majora's Mask?
To drive the point that things are desperate, you have to complete your actions before a timer runs out....

I am not sure how I feel about the idea...I don't think I really like it
Since I like to take my time and talk to everyone. A timer would just get in the way, but it would provide somewhat of an intersting mechanic....You have to scramble to get resources and get things ready for the assault....

Nvm it would have been terrible lol :bandit:

Wasn't really a fan of it in Dead Rising 1/2. Timed missions, perhaps, but if I knew there was a clock ticking down as I talked to people, a lot of the fun would be sucked out.

No. It never has been in Mass Effect and shouldn't start now. It's bad enough that you miss out on some side missions if you don't do them before curing the genophage. I like that I actually have to resist a sense urgency, caused by squad dialog, in order to take time to explore an area before moving on. And that nothing happens until Shepard arrives on the scene. I loved how, in Mass Effect, I could do Feros, Noveria, Therum (and Virmire) in any order and have dialog change to fit the discovery process that moves the story along. You might have to wait for missions to unlock, but you don't wind up being locked out if you wait too long (unless you go to Ilos). And Mass Effect 2 where you could continue the game and complete any missions you didn't do before the Suicide Mission.

I have to correct myself and say there are a few minor timed missions...in ME you are timed to disable some bombs, and are timed to find Tali on the Citadel. Don't remember any in ME2 or ME3. But I'm really tired right now.

Oh hell no!

I hate hate hate HATE timers. It completely destroys the game for me. It rushes you through everything and you rarely if ever have enough time to actually take anything in. You're constantly pushing forward without paying attention to the present. It's an RPG's nightmare.

Well with the lack of exploration missions, it kind of gives a sense of urgency. I mean if you were on a beach drinking beer instead of trying to save the galaxy, that's a few billion lives you could have saved. Waste too much time, then the galaxy gets destroyed.

So long as you can choose which arcs to do like in ME1, i could've seen that working. Also only if it had a tangible effect on the the way the end game plays out.

I don't about a timer but i would like to have more of a sense that TIME IS PASSING between missions. If they got Jessica Chobot to do more news stories about what's happening on Earth(or other home worlds) that would be perfect.

I hate timers, I gave up on Majora's Mask for that very same reason.<_<

No. I do not want to be rushed in mass effect.
