 And yes I fully expect people popping in with claims of topping the scoreboard on Platinum and screenshots and blah, blah...predictable apologetics.

BUT....he is quite simply not a good engineer. Even the Vorcha Engineer has more utility than he does with incinerate, bloodlust and submission net. 

Sentry Turret: ****** poor damage, poor crowd control

Homing Grenades: only worthwhile using at near point blank range because of travel speed, damage is ok but nothing earth shattering

Sabotage: long cooldown, damage is not that great, lacks real synergy with his other powers

I am not sure what BW was thinking when they made this character but he is not not well designed.

Apparently something's up with his sabotage, but I'll wait for the number crunchers to confirm.

There's another thread about it doing a lot of damage in combination with other powers that it shouldn't be. It might just be "Phoenix Fitness is bugged" all over again, but given some of the weird stuff we've seen in Retaliation, you never know.

Why are you so uptight about everything lately? You aren't any better than any other human being on this planet, so quit trying to make people feel smaller than you by attempting to use satirical phrasing when you type at at them. If you don't like the character, don't use it. Coming to the fourms and expressing your opinion about the character is one thing. But coming to BSN, complaining about a character being trash, and bashing a guy who made a simple joke for not providing supporting evidence, that is just plain ridiculous.

it's not that it's upsetting that he's not the newest completely op class and therefore disappointing. it's that he's not even as 'good' as the Havoc, in addition to being the second disappointing class to be released in a row.

tech vulnerability on sabotage does make the turret do more damage, but even so, the powers don't mesh well, and the CD on sabotage is too long to use with a decent weapon.

Sirian and Stardusk know each other well enough so if they take jabs at each other it's no big deal.

On topic: While I wouldn't call him as bad as the Vorcha Hunter, he strikes me as a somewhat boring character to play. The Male Quarian Engineer can basically do the same job (tech/fire explosions) but better.

He should have a tech ability that could really reap the benefits from sabotage tech vulnerability.

Still, I think I would use him if there is a tech heavy team eg flamers, paladin's with snap freeze coupled with a overload user. Independently I dont think he's very good but he will have very good synergy with a tech-heavy team

He is still a Turian though...just because you can't sit there and spam powers like the other engineers doesn't make him bad...find a feel for the kit and like I said before HE IS A TURIAN

He needs:

(1) -50% Reduction in Sabotage base cool down

(2) Turian Sentinel Fitness & Passive

After that he will be about as good as the QFE/Turian Sentinel, but quite a unique character.

It's that simple.

I kind of like that character. Sabotage and Homing grenades work pretty well together. Of course hes not the best but I like the Vorcha Hunter alot less than him.

Turret for shock/distraction (don't care about cooldown cuz it doesn't honestly die that often)
Homing Grenade a target, THEN sabotage it, so that the tech vuln will activate while homing is on its way to target. THEN riddle it with bullets.

Rinse, lather, repeat?

The Turian Saboteur is LACKLUSTRE. He might be the first Turian I actually won't like using. Lack of power synergy, powers with long cooldown on a power-based class & a really lame turret. He does not fill / create any unique niche in the Engineer class.

He actually does fill a niche in the Engineer class but the niche is sort of pointless for an Engineer.

Grenade focused engineer - N7 Demolisher
Turret powerhouse engineer - Geth Engineer
Distraction Engineer :- Human Engineer , Salarian Engineer
Debuff Engineer :- Volus Engineer, Quarian Male Engineer
Regenerative Engineer :- Vorcha Engineer
Healing Engineer :- Volus Engineer, Geth Engineer
Trap Engineer :- Volus Engineer , Vorcha Engineer
Power Combo Engineer :- Human Engineer, Salarian Engineer, Quarian Female Engineer
Weapons Oriented Engineer :- Geth Engineer, Turian Engineer

Sure if you spec him correctly you can have him as the Engineer with a high weapon damage & stability bonus. However the Geth Engineer can be specced with high weapon damage, high ROF, high accuracy & high pure damage. & the Geth Engineer comes with a healing bot. So he is not even the best weapons oriented engineer

But isn't an Engineer supposed to use powers to weaken enemy ? His weakening power which is sabotage does not work on all targets. It does not work on enemies with no guns whereas overload, energy drain , cryo blast does some form of damage against all types of target & all types of defenses (armor,shield,barrier). Other than that, sabotage does not give you a kill feed / score.

So without a shadow of doubt he is the worst Turian & worst Engineer in the game. The Vorcha is way better than the Saboteur with his regen, spammable powers that do proper damage & Vorcha's dodges work better than jetpacks. Jetpacks are cooler & that's about it...
