This is incorrect. We suggested handing him a controller to see if he does as good as he does on PC. No such claims were made.capn233 wrote...
Weird that console guys decided to proclaim how they were better because of inferior controls, despite this being a topic about the Turian Saboteur.
He isn't the greatest character ever, but that is because he has two underwhelming powers that could easily be fixed if they have the will to do so. All the pets, but especially Sentry Turret are mediocre to poor. Sabotage is skewed because it used to only be on the QFI who could bend it with Tac Cloak.
I made him semi-decent by deleting Turret and running Typhoon X and Scorpion w/ ULM. Sabotage has an ok cooldown that way, and you don't need to spam it when you can spam bullets. If you don't like the Typhoon take some other (better) weapon.
Let's be honest about the Turian Engineer...He is not a good character.

I mean lets be honest there is nothing spectacular about any of the weekly kits, this was known b4 they even came out.
I logged over 1k hours and it's safe to say i am burnt the hell out on this game, and none of the new kits are gonna change that especially since none of them have that "WOW" factor.
I'm now content just doing operations and collecting the new kits, other than that my playtime has pretty much ceased. ... of course gamefly sending me Dishonored today will take its place

He was kind of underwhelming. I went 3/6/6/6/5, setting off tech bursts with Sabotage -> Homing Grenade but using my gun most of the time. Felt like playing the FQI to me, but without Tactical Cloak to help with the bad damage and cooldown on Sabotage.
Maybe somebody will figure out a fun way to play him, like with some of the other extra Retaliation kits, but first impressions are not good.

The truth. I'm assuming the PC is much easier to control than console controllers. Keyboard/Mouse > Controller in easy mode in my opinion.
Even if that's the case (and it isn't), we're playing easy mode because we're not bound by inferior controls for a shooter? That's some assbackwards logic right there.
Opinions. I've played approx. an equal amount of time on X360 and a PC, and I find the PC to be much easier. Thanks for trying, though.
Edit: Apologies for the missing quote boxes and such. iPods can be a pain.
Deadeye Cyclops:
From the videos i have seen of PC games it does look MANY times easier to play than my ps3 port, mainly because they turn 180degrees or more on a dime, playing a melee build on pc looks like a infant could do it.
I'm not trying to say one is better than the other or start a flame war, but yeah from the outside lookin in, PC version's videos give the impression, that the faster turning makes the game much much much easier

It looks to me like this character has an incredibly reliable power damage combo--two damaging powers, a debuff, and a tech explosion--that only requires one CD, meaning you can bring heavyish weapons. Sentry turret may or may not be the weak link, but CD independence + burst damage combo + debuff is usually pretty good news, right? That plus the dodges makes a decent kit against any faction, at least on paper...
Or am I missing something?
This has never been confirmed by the number crunchers. You don't get tech kills for homing grenades afaik.
oh they have confirmed it is a tech (its not a biotic what else would it be) read a little more post on the turian to find out.....

"Easier" isn't how I would describe it. "Not plagued by **** controls and auto-aim" would be more accurate. It allows you to play to your own ability much more effectively. It's not "easier" for us, we're not getting assists. We're just not hamstrung.

I did just fine with him too. He's not fun to play for me, and that's what matters. Stick a good enough weapon on a character and you can score high regularly with it. FWIW I don't like the FQI that much either.

I played an all PUG match today with the Volus Sentinel and scored 140k+; what is your point? Score is not an indication that a class is good or not.

Great players should not argue that classes x y z are easy mode. Great players will be able to make the vast majority of classes into engines of DOOOOOOOOOOOOOM.
When I play the GI, I actually have to put effort in to make it work. That's not the definition of an easy mode class. It kills things super fast yes, but requires effort, good knowledge of survivability and excellent aim. Same with the Destroyer.
Contrast that with classes such as the Batarian Soldier, the Drell Vanguard/Adept, Demolisher, QMI, Novaguard, Slayer, Kroguard, Valkyrie, etc.
For me, these are all classes I choose (except for the Kroguard/Valkyrie/Demolisher, which I very rarely play) when I want to relax and not have to think or concentrate while playing. If any classes make the game 'ridiculously easy', it is these ones.

It would be nice if this thread could get back to the original point; what about his powers is so amazing? as an Engineer? Compare him to other Engineers; he has better weapon passives and jetboots. What else?
