It would be 5 new companions + the returning... which is looking like Oghren... Unless you get to choose which companion you're have return with you. That might be hoping for too much, though.

The returning companion will be the dog.

But seriously, I hope that dog sticks around anyway and the returning companion is one (all) of the others, because if my human noble can't continue her adventures with Leliana I will be EXTREMELY DISAPPOINT.

As for new companions, I'd like to see:
male mage
female warrior
DW warrior
female elf
female dwarf

While a female Qunari would be interesting, I'd rather that be saved for a Par Vollen/Qunari themed expansion.

It also occurs to me that since the PC can be a Warden from Orlais, it's possible that at least one NPC might be, as well.



(This might spare me the difficulty of making a Jean Reno lookalike...)



This maybe even our mage--who knows what attitudes towards magic users are like in Orlais?

Wynne and Morrigan represent almost ideal types of ways to dealing with magic. Wynne is the consummate Circle mage, all about self-discipline and control. Morrigan, Ms. "Power has meaning" resents all restrictions, cages, and entanglements. Is our new mage likely to represent a Third Way? (Maybe even a member of the Mages Collective?) Or maybe he'll be so far off the deep end, into blood magic, and a loose cannon that you would really feel safer if there were a templar or ten around?

Heh, I wish the returning companion should be Oghren. But with ''popular companion returning'' has been said and Morrigan lovers are in common... I don't know.



As for Sten, it will be a LONG way from his homeplace and Amarenthine, right ?

What about the female elf we see controlling the Sylvans? She could be a party member. I would love a mage that wasn't preacy or psychotic. I hope its Alistair the returns, his sheer sarcasticness alone makes him awesome.

I do hope for (new) returning characters in form of previously unplayable NPCs from DA:Origins. Maybe the likes of Bann Teagan, Ser Gilmore, Fergus, Ser Cauthrien, etc. They'd be fun to have if playable this time around.

I think Morrigan is going to be another expansion. Dog makes sense, but that may be a bit lame. Its going to be interesting to see who these new characters are. Duncan would be great.
