Either Miranda or Jack, though I also think we need a salarian or a krogan on the Normandy.
If forced to choose, I'd say Miranda due to how she factors into the Cerberus story arc.
If you had to choose 1 ME2 character to be on the squad in ME3.

Why?
Popular opinion seems to be that the most lore-bound character---Miranda---would be integrated into the game. That's not a bad thing, even though I'd prefer other characters' inputs and attitudes.

"Lore-bound'? Liara is Lore-bound, and that certainly hasn't stemmed the complaints about her. What does being 'lore-bound' do to promote a character?

Never understood the hype about Miranda (aside from some parts of her body I guess). She's a good squadmate but her back background story and character is by far not as interesting as Jack, Mordin, Grunt, Legion or Samara/Morinth (the latter two came definitely too late in ME2).

Grunt's story is interesting, but Miranda's isn't? They're practically the same, only Miranda's is more specific about her birth, and Henry Lawson is more of a maniac than Okeer.
Why is everybody's first assumption that Miranda is only popular because of her body? I don't need to explain how retarded and 1-sided that is, do I?

Miranda is a far more complex and interesting character than Grunt; and I love Grunt. I just think people don't seem to have the ability to look past..."other things", if you catch my drift. I find her conversations about her father fascinating, and I imagine a few players can relate to having a parent/s like that...not as psychopathic or megalomaniacal, though.
As for my one character: it would be between Miranda, Grunt or Jack.
