PC players should't be allowed have a toolkit if the Xbox/PS3 players can't use it .It's only right ,that does't make me a troll/hater. Navasha the toolkit is't going to happen so drop it.

Coming into a thread that in no way pertains to your platform of choice and attempting to start a PC vs. Console war is pretty much a decent definition of a troll post.

Perhaps you should re-read the jpg in your own sig more closely with a bit of introspection.

Really, if adding a toolkit makes the game more like the mess that is a Bethesda game I rather not have a toolkit. It takes me close to a year if I complete a game from Bethesda because I have to keep restarting the game from scratch because of the bugs in the game. If they ever get around to fixing their engine so the same issues aren't a problem in each game they make I might buy them before I can get them on sale.

Having a toolkit would be a great thing to be added to the game, but only if it doesn't break other areas of the game. Most of the time I only use the toolkit to fix parts of the game I feel are broken or to remove parts of the gameplay that I find frustrating.

So the PC version shouldn't utilize DirectX 11 features and 1920x1080+ because your console can't do it?

If BioWare is able to make a toolset happen, I'll be extremely happy. But I'm not about to throw a fit because we don't see one. Modders were still able to do some great stuff with DA2 without one.

After ME3's ending fiasco, DA3 is going to be *the* game that I'll be using to decide whether I'm going to be a future customer of EA... Here's to hoping that PC players won't get shafted and that we'll get a toolset!

(Why didn't I stop at DA2 and ME3? Because as a college student who wants to get into the videogame industry, I have to at least 3 chances: DA2 was strike 1, ME3's ending fiasco was strike 2. Waiting for DA3 to see if it's strike 3.)

I'm all for a toolset. I love mods, but I would also appreciate a game that doesn't require mods to make it better. If the game has pretty graphics, good looking armour, and functions properly I'll be happy enough without a toolset. :)

EA doesn't like modding because anything which can't be monetized scares them. Bioware doesn't like modding because the majority of them are now old and tired and feel their artistic integrity would be endangered by modding tools.

By the powers of greed and fear combined we get no modding tools.

That is hardly helpful.   Its not like modding tools just suddenly spring up magically and they are being suppressed.

I would say that developing a truly user-friendly modding toolkit is probably as much work as an entire premium DLC package.

Bethesda develops a  toolkit BEFORE the game and then uses it to create the content.   Making that same toolkit ready for end-user use took months.     Its not a simple matter.

Just leave us an override folder or some other means that allows us an access port to the game content and the modders will figure out the rest.

If a toolkit comes later, thats a big plus for everyone!   (Well, maybe not the troll posters who want to to deny anything to anyone that they can't have)

The editor had to be tweaked before it could be released to the public. For example, the "conjure coffee" button was disabled because the average person doesn't have interns working at home, and they want to make sure this didn't result in other problems.

That was a quote from one of the moderators on the Bethesda forums, in response to complaints about the wait for the Skyrim CK. The developer's first priority is getting their game out the door, they're focused on making the game, not putting together a polished, documented, bug free, user friendly, cohesive piece of development software unimpeded by 3rd party licensing terms. And it's pretty clear that even Bethesda, who knew full well that they'd be releasing their kit to the public, put it together for their own use first.

No because it would be for PC only so no.If PC players get the toolset then they should't get the DLCs it's only fair..

Great. so your logic is that rather than trying to make a game as good as possible on each platform, we should make them as bad on everyone?

In that case, by using the same logic, then Skyrim would have all the problems like the PS3 version has on all platforms - including the Dawnguard DLC not being available at all. Maybe you should send Behtesda a message and ask them for such a patch for the PC and Xbox version?.

Never understood this "us vs them" mentality, I just want the game to be as good as can be.

Actually, no, that's exactly what it is. I remember a time where all gamers actually wanted a toolset and were hoping that a means could be established to be able to port some mods to consoles so that all owners of a product could benefit from mods and modders. That was an attitude from people who actually cared about the game and the gamers and giving them the best possible product.

I own a PC and I own a console, and I choose which platform I want to buy a game for based on numerous factors. "I can't get it on my platform, so you shouldn't get it on yours" is a petty and childish attitude that does nothing productive.

If more people actively pushed for modding tools and the ability to have them or mods available on all platforms, then developers and publishers might actually start paying some attention to that and there would be a better chance that gamers would get them and subsequently increase the value and longevity of their games. If you don't want that, feel free to continue to hate on all suggestions of toolsets and modding for games.
