Though I can always delete the noobs like Sirian to make room.
Heh.
Though its gold or go home, regardless of your manifest!

If you add Jay, Sirian or any of the like you could likely play Gold with them, since they are both beyond excellent at the game.
There are also ways to work in the vanilla humans into platinum as casters, I know the Adept is certainly platinum worthy when played right.
Human Engineer is a good partner to a Paladin or Trooper to chain detonte Snap Freeze or Flamer chains.
So, you gotta be creative but you do not need to be confined to Silver for long.

If you are an experienced player, you can play gold and platinum, even with a crappy manifest. The player matters more than the manifest. If the all-mighty slimjim vouches for you then you definitely know the game.
I don't really play silver anymore but I'd be happy to play a gold/plat game with you sometime. Usually don't play until after 8PM PST though.
Add if you want. OriginID: jfruelas
Player skill matters more than the manifest full stop. Knowledge of the game is also immensely helpful.
But if you only have underleveled weapons, no piercing mods, no gear, few consumables, and caps of 2 on all four equipment, as well as all six classes in need of leveling, as well as not being fluid with the controls on PC, your success in Gold and Platinum will be primarily a function of how efficient the rest of the team is at DPSing enemies to death while you work in the occasional contribution. At least for the first few dozen hours of play time.
Just speaking as someone with very recent experience going through this same process and being occassionally frustrated (although buying a mouse so that I no longer had to play on a touchpad helped a lot).
If you don't have good weapons, play a caster class where you rely on powers to hurt enemies. You can be a good teammate by debuffing stuff for the rest of the team. Lack of good weapons isn't a disqualifer for gold/platinum. There are multiple videos of people playing platinum with common weapons. Plus playing sliver takes to long to start filling out your manifest. I enjoy helping low level players on higher difficulties as long as the player is good.
