I'd do backflips if her and my story was continued. After all... I'm single now... I need to live vicariously through my character... I NEED IT! AHHH!

She was my favorite. But the whole god-baby thing leaves me apprehensive. There are two ways to mess this up. Turn her into an antagonist, or turn her into your typical utilitarian-egalitarian-american-christian. I like her as a Nietzschian.

Wouldn't she be the returning companion with a twist?

kinda depends how later on in the story this expansion takes place. if its like... a few months after the battle at Denerim then i doubt it. no matter how kick ass she is, i dont think pregnant woman would be very effective on the battlefield lol. if its X number of years after maybe, what I personally want to see is an expansion in the future with her Son as either a party member, or an antagonist. i mean after all, a man (or woman) with the power of an old god? a powerful ally, or a dangerous enemy either way.

Based on this poll http://www.bioware.com/ she's the most popular character out of the entire cast by a big margin, second comes Alistair which we've already seen in the trailer, and we know Oghren is in as well, so, since I assume Bioware will keep it in secret until much later I'd say yes, it has to be Morrigan.

I hope so atleast, she's not only my favorite party character but also my main character's romance, so here's hoping.

That poll opened before the game released, I think the results would be more evenly spread now.

Personally, I think they should save Morrigan for a sequel, not an expansion.

If Morrigan is in an expansion/sequel, I'd really want the opportunity to throw her off a cliff. What an annoying, spoiled brat.

Morrigan is going to end up being Saemon Havarian... without the funny, friendly slick vibe.

Morrigan's child as a playable PC in an expansion/DA2/3? just sounds way to close to a Bhaal spawn take off... I just do not see that happening (doesn't mean I wouldn't enjoy it, loved my godhood in BG2)

As for Morrigan, not even remotely close to being a strong npc character, no doubt she was loved by early teen kiddies.

I wonder if the talking darkspawn in the trailer IS Morrigan's son?

That's the Architect, from one of the novels (The Calling).

Morrigan quite likely won't appear, but some mention of her is feasible..

But BioWare has definitely set up the possibility that Morrigan's child is the PC for the sequel, I'll give them that.

Apparently there is only one returning companion, & I have a feeling it might be Allister

I don't know how long it's been since Origins when Awakening starts, but I suspect Morrigan would be quite preggers and probably not in any state to be adventuring.

At this point, it's safe to say it's Oghren.  Oghren is one of two characters with a unique haircut, and it's fairly recognizable.  Also, he can be seen earlier in the trailer as part of a 4-man group with the red glow that berserk causes.  Seems pretty cut & dry.   Also, the mage with the ponytail is guarenteed to be a party member, as he is seen in the same aforementioned party as well as seen performing the Joining later on.

He will be returning, but only as a plot NPC (assuming you didn't off him, I suppose).

Yeah, I think Morrigan's story is being saves for DA2. And I think I prefer it that way.
