I don't think the devs ever look at a cool idea and go "Yeah we hate that **** get rid of it how gross". If they feel like they can include it and it makes sense, it could be there. Otherwise I'll assume they felt it didn't fit...

...but I am totally up for some Orlesian pizzazz spilling out of every gilded orifice.

I didn't know what to expect from the title of this thread... Wasn't this pretty much covered in that DA2 dlc what ever it was called?

I would like to attend an Orlesian ball. Some balls are held for charity, and some for fancy dress. But when they're held for pleasure, they're the balls that I like best. Orlesian balls are always bouncing, to the right and to the left; it's my belief that Orlesian balls should be held every night.

There should be a luxury goods store in Orlais that sells gowns and tuxedo's or such things, not just for when at a fancy ball but also for use when your in your castle, house or at home. Like Hawke had for when in mansion not out fighting in armour.

Its Orlais! Did you expect sophisticated and pretty clothing from them? Of course we get pink pantsuit

I want this. I also want to drag one of my party members with me so I can dress em up and they can be my date. :whistle:to enhance whatever facade I'm keeping of course. But I've been saying this from the start, I want a more politically based mission, one where going out and socializing is needed to gain allies and guage enemies. Also while being ridiculously well dressed, or since it is orlais ridiculously dressed may work too.

Not really. There was the hunt, sure, but I would really like more things like that instead of just the mindless killing.

I absolutely love this idea, in fact I think they should blow just a little extra of the budget on it and make it one of those amazing late mid-game/ early late game missions/events that it should be, with a lot of branching possibilities. A choice of guest, companion or otherwise and have wide and varied dialogue for each, that's if you're the guest! But also the option to be the infiltrator who slips in while everyone is occupied and is skulking about behind the scenes, or even a blend of both should you choose it: that guest that disappears conveniently and briefly only to return at the perfect time with a perfect alibi.

But for which faction do you work?

Are you there simply as a bystander to enjoy the events and encounters as they unfold? Are you the playboy/girl just looking to hit up some Orlesians? Perhaps you're digging for info on a certain key guest, or maybe watching out for another? Perhaps their is a slave or smuggling deal going down, are you there to assist the authorities, make a profit, or just ease things along for interested and allied parties?

Of course all of these plots are only accessed should you build up to them over the course of the game, though might just catch hide or hair of them if you're in the right place at the right time, maybe you might even try and get involved, but by careful: you don't know the full story, you might just help the assassin!

We'd be liable to see a brawl in at least one scenario of course, and perhaps some factions might want to end the party with a bang: of course whether that's with the fires of war or the fires of passion is up for debate.

All that aside, you can always just amuse yourself with spiking drinks, warning people of the cheese platter, making hum drum conversation, flirting with the married woman and tearing apart cliques and families, even just drink yourself into oblivion and wake up wedged between kossith, a broom, and with a butler covered in honey lying suspiciously at the foot of your bed.. Oh no, here comes that extremely flamboyant guy who wants nothing more than to be your strictly platonic bosom buddy... he even produces roses, the symbol of his friendship out of the ether.

Yeah I may have let my dreams of possibility run a little wild there...>_>

Want it as a level not dedicated to slay slay slay exposition choice slay helps makes it less tedious. Also let the woman dress in those truly decadent clothes from Versailles balls not the same boring gowns seen in dragon age. Mark of the assassins clothing choice for female was just terrible while Tallis looked more classy.

I want my Femquisitor to wear a (customisable) dark blue and purple dress with a gold mask with a few gold feathers.
I imagine people either grabbing a partner and swirling around the ballroom to the music or engaging in a battle of wits and words, servants carrying fine wines and platters with delicous and rare exotic foods.

If there is a ball, it should be possible for the main character to not, ahem, play ball. I mean, the plot might require you attend, but your Inquisitor should be free to stomp around in full armour glaring at this frivolous dancing and wishing those demons would show up soon.
