Not only Cassandra. An Orlesian ball could be something like the Casino infiltration mission in ME3 Citadel, where you could bring a companion with you (in formal dresses, no less) and have them distract the enemies with funny dialogues
*imagines bringing Iron Bull if he is a companion*

The opportunity to pull a Walter Frey would be glorious. If that ball will be with masks and you are a mage you could go in the middle of the room and then someone will throw you your staff and you will kill all the nobles in the ball room (Anders follower achievement complete) mmuhahahahaa

I'm hoping they'll be able to give us a masquerade ball for Inquisition. It sounds like it could be a lot of fun. Well, provided we get some decent looking outfits for the occasion. I don't think I ever exited DA2 as fast as I did when I saw the default party outfit for MotA. I found a mod that had an actual dress before I continued. The clown suit was pretty bad, particularly on a fem Hawke.
However, every time I hear someone asking to go to a ball, this comes to mind:

This is Orlais we're talking about here, and it does sound about right for them. An invitation to a party for Hawke nearly turned into a war between Orlais and Kirkwall. I have a feeling that, more than the demons, darkspawn and crazed extremists, an elegant ball in Orlais might be the place with the highest danger.

It'd work too. Give the opportunity for the play to throw a party for the local nobility and either work to gain their allegiance or sip your goblet as Inquisition soldiers swarm into the room and slaughter them allThat would be priceless! "The Inquisitor sends his regards" *Stabs*

Yes!First you and your companions, attend the party as guests and when a particular song(signal) plays in the background...here come the soldiers...
It'd be fun for a ruthless quizzy!

With bioware you can't even count on such possibility at best you will be able tell light insult toward 1 noble or servants

This stuff could be popular, the party was very popular in the Citadel DLC.
Ofcourse there are different kinds, there is the type you arrage for your friends, the ones you throw for political reasons and the ones you attend to "assasinate" people or simply crash the party... Or it could be charity(also kind of political).
There are so many ways a ball or party can be fun and interesting. One with your friends shoudl be later in the game however when you know them better, at least a little bit past hi, who are you phase?

I think the difference will be that the ball won't be arranged by the Inquisitor. Instead, he or she will have an invitation, like Hawke in MotA.

If I had the option to attend a masquerade ball in Orlais, I'd love to wear a Queen Elsa mask if I'm a mage who specializes in elemental magic.

Don't count that too drastic for bioware especially that they are going with da 2 dialogue system. ![]()

If this is the current Thedosian shoe trend, I can see why the elves are going barefoot.
