Yes! Orlesian ball confirmed! Now, as Alistair said, we need some assassinations, political intrigue and cheese. Especially cheese.

 

Seriously though, this is good news. Orlesian fashion and parties are, apart from the chevaliers, the most well-known part of their culture. It would have been a shame not to witness one. If only we get the option to take part in one, that would be great.

Oh my goodness that would be FANTASTIC. I would even be happy if we got to decide between an array of outfits, rather than being forced into a "one-size-fits-all" outfit (by the way, MoTA, one size did NOT fit all).

I don't remember where or when I read it, but didn't David Gaider once say that if we ever went to Orlais we would attend a mask ball? He might have said half joking, but am I the only one who would absolutely love that idea?


Note to Bioware: If you do, please, PLEASE, give us some pretty dresses to wear and not those unisex clothes from Mark of the assassian or ugly housrobes.

agreed - but only if I can decide not to have my female characters wear said dresses (I abhore dresses and skirts (on women), because I can't think of a less practical attire and I can understand any woman who decides not to wear those things)

 

I would much rather have something like a hunting-costume (a decorative leather-armor with rivets and some fitting jewels - why? - simple (!), because at a ball (in Orlais at least) there's always bards and other assassins and i would like to have a modicum of protection and freedom of movement (long dresses do get in the way IMHO) while also looking stylish!) for my female characters, while my male characters would prefer something like a dress uniform (dress armor!) or some extra stylish mage robes (as my characters tend to be mages!)

 

but yeah, a ball mission (or a ball with several missions, like: poison xyz, talk to xyz to see if the might be allies, steal some documents etc.) would be very fitting (hell, we might even have to throw our own ball(s), as the Inquisition has to take part in "the game" in Orlais, in order to get ahead and balls are the bread and butter in rich, aristocratic and treacherous societies like the Orlesian Court!)

The good news is that there is indeed an Orlesian ball!  The bad news is they have retained the Shepard dance move animations from mass effect for your inquisitor.

I'm soooo excited that we get to go to an orlesain ball. i hope we get to wear a cute outfit, pants or dress choice, and get to see our companions do the same. also hope we get to dance. or even a romantic scene with out love interest. oh god. it is a very nice change of pace and there is so many interesting things that could happen. also the place is gorgeous. def gnna be one of my fav parts in the game.
