Do think there will ever be a prequel to the Dragon Age series. Perchance a game that recaptures a monolothic event from the past that helped shape the world of Thedas. Maybe the initial blight that saw the rise of the first Darkspawn and Greywardens, or Andraste's rebellion against the Tevinter imperium. It would be intriguing to glimpse one of Thedas' many historical events that are now mere footnotes, but still how some effect on the present day Thedas.

I don't think so. They'll probably write books and draw comics about it, but there's too much going in Thedas in the present for them to go back to the past. As it is, I don't think they'll be able to make as many games as they want to cover as much of the present as they want, so I don't think they'd waste literally years' worth of time and resources going back in the past when we already know the outcomes anyway.

I personally would like to see the genesis of the first Greywardens. The biggest question behind the orders existence is how they came to be. There are vague recollections in all old passages that gloss over details. May be one day we'll be treated to the mysteries that are present in the Dragon Age Universe.

I wander how the first Greywardens came to the conclusion that they should consume Darkspawn/Archdemon Blood mixed with Lyrium to become super-human beings. I guess that could have perceived that Darkspawn are were perhaps menacing and quite foreboding. They may have decided to some emulate the Darkspawn's source of power to fight on equal footing. The idea of distilling the Darkspawn Taint to allow them to embrace the Dark Wellspring of power, and also to make there warriors immune to the taint. They would have been desperate and forced to go extreme lengths to preserve humanity; that was most likely the catalyst for the first Greywardens. Additionally, they would have to deal with a constantly respawning Archdemon who probably drove further desperate measures.

1. It wouldn't be called Dragon Age
2. It would basically be a retelling of Origins

I said Dragon Age Prequel which doesn't necessarily mean it would be entitled Dragon Age. I don't think it would be a retelling of Dragon Age Origins as the events depict the fifth blight. As opposed to the very first blight which involved Gryphons, and the people of Thedas possibly had no knowledge that Darkspawn even existed. Till the arisal of Arch Demon, and inevitable surfacing of the Dark Denizens. The masses of the world of have been taken unware by the Taint Bearers. The Greywardens didn't exist till centuries into the first blight. Meaning no treaties existed compelling the people of the land to fight together. They would of had to rally together and worked in concert to battle the encroaching enemies. Dumat was the strongest the Old Gods it would have taken much more effort to slay him. The original Wardens may have been stronger due to ingesting the blood of Dumat. It would also stand to reason that the first magisters that trespassed into the golden city may have been present during the First Blight. Corypheus may have been roaming around with fellow Proto-Darkspawn thus increasing the difficulty of the Greywardens mission to combat the Darkspawn.

I think what he means is that Thedas is currently in an Age of Dragons because dragons have been spotted in larger numbers than before. That's why it's called Dragon Age. If the game was to take place during the First Blight, it would arguably make more sense to name it after the age of which the First Blight happened. On the other hand, that would probably confuse the fanbase.

The title really doesn't matter as long as there is a caption mentioning the words 'Dragon Age'. Then it should be possible for a person to tell that this game is related to the Dragon Age series. Also that it takes place prior to the events that we've seen thus far. For example, Genesis of The Darkspawn or Darkspawn, Wrath of the Maker. Then can be a follow up line in italisicised writing From the Dragon Age Universe, a depiction of the First Blight.

Honestly I hope not to do a cliche'd "man saves the world from Ultimate evil" once is fine to do it twice is overkill and Besides the Dragon Age franchise is about all of Thedas not just the Grey Wardens they have had their starring role now its time for something else
