This...without using a consumable, not even ops pack, that was 10 waves survived without stim packs or shield boost.

Alamo is not challenge, the last week challenge was harder, because it took more time.
I don't see any reason for soloing, If all team members are aware of it ....its done in 5 minutes.
Just use mic and tell...whatever about operation.

Yeah, the glitches, if someone glitches every single time...thats bad. I had glitch on Condor maybe 5 times total.
No way this is gonna glitch more then one or two times (highly unlikely for me).

Ammo boxes? Yeah, annoying with harrier and grenade class, but definitely playable.
If you need, take Particle rifle, CSMG, CSR on ghost, volus, or whatever and its done.

No way this is a challenge. I feel like BW is not willing to put any thoughts into challenges.

with full extraction and 4 players in team.....that would I call some sort of challenge, not this jokes we are
getting now. They call them weekend challenges, but they are only free commpacks for doing nearly nothing.

im definitely pugging it on bronze (my usual level). did a few test pugs on condor last night and got it every time i think.

The N7HQ description "Earn the "Survive Five Waves" medal as a squad on Palaven." is wrong btw. Condor is on a moon called Menae, not on Palaven.

I guess I'll do this one solo, too.

No one's forcing you to cheese it.

I actually think its perfect. If you want to earn it, and view it as a challenge, attempt it as part of a gold team. If you want to cheese it, the option exists.

I'll be grinding the gold waves anyway. Working on map mastery. This is going to be ridiculously easy. I've been playing so much gold in the past couple days I have a set pattern/routine & hardly have to pay any attention.

Is it? I always thought Menae got destroyed after Shepard left there with Victus in tow.

Never found any ingame information about Menae being destroyed, so I think it's still there. However, it's highly likely that the moon is mainly reaper controlled after Shepard left but that's just speculation on my part.

These challenges are mainly for stat collecting and monitoring. They want to influence players to play on certain maps, use certain characters, weapons, powers etc. Sure, some of them may be a "real" challenge, but I'm betting that most of them are used to improve the game and collect stats about certain aspects of the game. For that, you get a commendation pack.

There's a sort-of conflict of info. N7HQ seems to say 'as a squad' and the goal is listed as a team goal but the blog also mentions small, stealthy units which implies solo. It seems like it's a team goal which means no-solo.

Hmm..I completed 3 solo bronze and as a member of a team all with extraction and all with 5 survived waves. No reward. Did it start yet?

This is it? Ah, way too easy of a challence but hey, at least it's on my all-time favorite map. I love Condor and I have never had any kinds of bugs there, so I'll enjoy this one purely because of the location alone.

Is it bad that I don't even know what this "survive 5 wave" medal is even though I've been playing this since day one ?
I never look at medals so I don't know how I unlock them (and usually do not care).

All there is to do is go up to wave 6 without dying ? It's way too easy.

Can we get a harder challenge next time ?

The Survive Waves Medal is squad based, you only get it if all squad survives! Hence the reason many are saying they'll do it solo. They don't trust other players ability.

Rio was far more problematic for me (crash-to-desktop, crash-to-desktop everywhere), Condor's fine, although a nightmare to defend; I usually just defend the top hill.

I'll try Gold PUGs.. and if not, a Silver solo.

I don't think the point of the weekend challenges is to be challenging, and I'm fine with that. I think the point is to make you play a little differently for a little while. Remember that there are players for whom bronze on forgiving maps is a challenge. The fact that those of the typical BSN caliber can knock out a 5-survive on Condor/Bronze does not mean the challenge is ill designed.
