Forgive me for asking the totally obvious question here. The survive 5 waves medal just means you can't go down at all for the 1st 5 waves? for 5 consecutive waves? I've never paid attention to this medal before.

As for the challenge, I totally hate Condor and have been getting it way more than normal lately. this will be a very unenjoyable task.

None of you can go down. The whole team must survive 5 waves without anyone dying.
And I believe it´s 5 consecutive waves.

Thanks, bronze solo no question in the world.  Is BioWares intent for most of these things to force players to solo more?  Because that is exactly what most of these weekly things do.

I am actually really worried about going to pugs. I can solo to get this challenge done, but I don´t want to screw it up for others because I accidently died. 
Most challenges seem to have some purpose. Like make people to play this, so they realize how awesome it is. Or make people do this, so they learn about that. This challenge...I fail to see purpose. But maybe there is none.

agree that the challanges push you (and me ) out of the comfort zone a little and make you try something you would normally not do - for this case....how about - if Everyone says how buggy the map is.....what better way to stress test the map by getting everyone to play on it?
If this truely was the buggiest map and Bioware do listen to fan forums....would they have the idea to get everyone on it and the focus on the activity?...

done. this was way to easy. the first two games i left instantly cause of s*** team but the thitrd was an easy win with no one dying over all 10 waves + exfiltration.

I made a solo, got the medal but the challange is not completed yet and I have no Commendation Pack...

Just promoted all klasses and went into bronze with a level 1 BatSent. Rest of the team were lvl20. Got my challenge and a Crusader V after the first 5 waves.
Just have a little faith in PUGs.

Thanks for an interesting challenge! I really appreciate that the challenges are so different from week to week. I've had to get out of my comfort zone more than once and it makes it a lot more fun imo.

Huh this seems crazy to me. I completed this challenge my first try with some random guy and we survived all ten waves no deaths. When it was over I got a message after I left to lobby to go respect my character saying thank you for helping him complete the challenge and that he had a tough time achieving this with other pug members. The funny part is that I wasn't even thinking about it I just killed and did my job like I always do. This was the easiest challenge for me by far.

Success first time, awesome!! I got really lucky with a PUG, I wanted to make it interesting so chose unknown/gold. Ended up with the geth

Everything was going fine until wave 4 when one guy went down, kept pushing on and got the challenge at the end of wave 10 ..the 'harder' waves survived.

We had a great time doing this challenge. I'm pretty sure we picked it up in a silver pug, but not sure, we bounce between silver and bronze a lot I do run solo to make the solo challenges, but I think the point of MP is to run with a squad. Now I've had some crappy squads, but I still always try to do my part.

Did this challenge with some mates. Ironically I died on wave 6.

On a side note, anybody else been wondering why the operation was named "Alamo" because from what American History I know, the battle at the Alamo was one that the invaders won. Did Bioware expect a lot of people to fail or are they foreshadowing a harder week-end challenge with an allied goal?

They need to do more of those challenges that you can just do any way you want rather than having to jump to bronze solo to get it the easiest.

Done and done! Did it in a PUG. Got an Eagle IV for my troubles. It was easy but I got work and Xmas shopping to do.

What a bunch of whiners on this forum. I jumped into a bronze PUG, rusty from not playing in a while, with an L19 Sentinel using an L1 Harrier. Had 3 strangers with N7s ranging from 50 to 300, and equal challenge points...so fairly new players, didn't even know how to use the reusable equipment buffs, etc. etc.

We did Condor/random, got Reapers, and ran the whole thing once to extraction without anyone going down, including the Vanguard. No drama. Kind of fun, actually. Added a twist of suspense.

I would love to see these challenges have different levels to them with different rewards e.g.-Bronze has a base award and Gold and Plat score either an additive (n+1) or net new upgrade (x+y). This would make it more compelling to play the mission more times, or make it more challenging (aka fun) for seasoned players at least, and make it more compelling for new folks to try harder games.

So far most of the challenges lately are doable in 1-2 games depending on what level chars I have sitting around to run it. So, keep some goals easy (don't ruin it for new people = more people = more money for Bio = more support for game) but many of us would like harder goals as well, so instead of either/or perhaps you could offer multiple goals/rewards, or scale them by challenge level.

PC PUGs are generally good. First Round went in with my 20 destroyer and along with the others went from waves 1-9 without any deaths, wave 10 our baby novaguard (think he was lvl 6? Can't remember) had the notion to charge a prime with rocket troopers and flamers around it with the predictable results. Even so my guess is that everyone got thier commendation packs.

The map is buggy as hell though, still see people trying to join mid wave or at the start of wave 2 and get link locked at the spawn site.

So I completed the challenge by soloing the first 5 waves in a silver game yesterday, but half an hour ago I created a public Condor lobby just for fun, gold against Reapers.

The lobby filled out pretty quickly, with capable looking PUGs, and despite not communicating or working out any specific strategy we managed to get the 5 waves medal. Someone dropped on the first wave, but then we rolled through the next five - we had pizza delivery on wave 6, and I grabbed the second one and hauled ass in order to get the wave finished quickly. They all dropped out after the game finished, which was a shame since I wouldn't mind rolling through another game or two with them. So if you finished a gold Condor PUG against the Reapers a few minutes ago with a Drellguard host, thanks for the game and don't be afraid to add me. Origin ID is the same as my handle here.
