Because you are not Shepard you follow his story and can at some specific point change what he says.

there are different ways to play rpgs. when i play an rpg, the protagonist becomes my avatar .. i am not an observer anymore, i become a part of the world. its like method acting.

When has Shepard ever thought a race being slaughtered was funny? Never? That's what I thought. Joker's comment was in poor taste and he deserved the tongue lashing that he got. I would have preferred an interrupt to break his glass arms but I guess we need him to fly the ship.

And I wanted to watch Thessia burn with a grin on my face.  So it looks like neither got what we wanted.

Ok maybe not that bad.  But I'd still like to be able out call the asari out on their complete stupidity, hypocrisy, military ineptitude, etc...

Smoking a cigar, with the tuxedo from Kasumi's DLC, Reapers can't see us for the time being, and then:
Whoever was with you during the mission: "Kai Leng got away"
Shepard: "Yeah that's a setback, but we'll get him"
Mission: "Thessia was lost"
Sherpard: "In war, there are sacrifices. Earth is more important to us. We told Palaven that. Let's play some darts"

Cruel yes, but it does point out that Shepard said Earth was worse off than Palaven. Which we've seen, is not true. Earth is a few burning lights. Palaven had a huge f****off orange section, a few smaller sections, and more burning lights. How Palaven survives that, while Thessia doesn't really survive the attack they had, I don't know.

Stupidity- Yeah, hidding the beacon was stupid during the war but that is the fault of a few select matriarchs. Not the Asari as a whole. Furthermore, you should be happy it was the Asari who had the beacon and not the Krogan or the Turians. What do you think they would have done with it's secrets?

Hypocrisy- I'm not really seeing this one.

Military ineptitude- It was stated that the Asari used hit and run tactics at first and had great success keeping the reapers away from Thessia until the reapers accepted their losses and pushed through. The Asari fleet didn't fare any worse than any other species once they were forced on the defensive.

ME3 is not for renegade shepard, too much auto dialog and forced personality
that could make shepard out of renegade character.

I think they should've learn from dragon age 2 personality system if they wanna
try something about shepard character.

Go IM on it.  Light up with some brandy in hand.

But Shepard says that Earth is worse off than Menae, not necessarily Palaven (That's what I gathered).  Besides Earth is clearly more important, we have 'Mericuh.

Who cares? In a game where the players is (sort of) given the ability to role play the protagonist, options are to be expected. But then I forgot that ME3 is only an RPG by the loosest of definitions.

"Sort of"  is not complete control. Bioware didn't let you make light of millions of deaths, how dare they.

Hypocrisy- They forbid the hiding of prothean technology, but they are perfectly fine with hiding it for themselves.

Military- The Turians are holding Palaven and they got it worse, Earth is still holding, worse than Thessia, they just can't fight.  I don't know why Joker says they should have more commandoes, they are pretty useless.

I was thinking of Jonas Hodges from Season 7 of 24, but I should've been thinking of TIM.

I'm wondering, did the Reapers just start charging London because they realised that Canada was Canada and that they wouldn't fight back? Instead be all peaceful?

You can butcher the entire quarian species, and not bat an eye.

The Canadians probably listened to the Reaper's offer of "peace"

No one cracked a joke about the Quarians and/or Geth eating it though.

It's not an exact comparison.

But why should the asari get better treatment?  They have other planets, its not the end for them like it is the quarians or geth.

Because some players roleplayed "their Shepard" as a heartless malevolent sociopath, it would seem.

1- Because the Asari officials ran for office with big signs that said "We hide Prothean tech everyone!"

2- Would you rather them share it with the Krogan?

3- Earth got blasted way faster than Thessia and what makes you think that the Humans and Turians are still fighting but the Asari arent?

I never said you had to mope around. My original point was about Joker's comment, and how it was completely wrong. Again, you can't make a joke about Rannoch.

Let's count the species you can exterminate.

Rachni(x2)
Krogan
geth
Quarians
(Potentially the Hanar and Drell)

But you never lose any sleep over them...

Again, who cares? My post was deliberate about mentioning ME3 as restricting the player's control over Shepard. I made that clear.

How dare they? Who gives a ***damn if they do or not? I wouldn't freak out on somebody if one of my relatives was in the holocaust? It bothers me that my player control was taken away, stop acting like a white knight for the asari. As cruel as Joker's comment was, he was 100% correct. Frankly, I would even agree with his message, if not his method.

 Muahaahaaaaahaahahahaha!!!

But only for the Asari. My Shepard really only hates the Asari. Liara kind of started creeping him out.
