I hated tUoSA trailer. Whoever made it should of followed the final character designs in the game. It reminded me of most 80s and 90s games where the intros or box art had more fluid/"better" graphics than the game. And I like the graphics in DA:O, they won't win awards but that's not what the game is about. They fit, the art direction is good, even though the character hands are frickin' huge.

Sten just looked like a tall African guy in the trailer. I prefer his appearance in the game with the full, unusual features and bizarre coloration. He looks like a fantasy race in the game, in the trailer he just looks like a tall black guy. Morrigan looks like Joan Jett and Leliana look like she dyes her hair with Koolaid. Whoever modeled the characters for the CG trailer must be color blind.

I also thought the action sequence was profoundly cheesy in the trailer with Morrigan doing flips and Leliana somehow scrambling up 40 foot pillars to take a couple of shots at a dragon only to backflip off of it. The art direct sucked for the trailer. Sure it's fantasy, but if characters have supernatural abilities to scamper up impossible surfaces and flip around like Chinese gymnists in 0.3 earth gravity then what's so special about magic anyway? Plus it's bad advertising, don't show features in trailer you can't do in a game. You can't jump or climb in DA:O, don't show the characters jumping all over the place in your trailer and using terrain to your advantage in such rediculous ways.

And like other posters mentioned, yeah, whoever made that watched way too much Gladiator. It's a good movie but I watch a trailer to enjoy the trailer, not hijacked tidbits of a movie.

Oh well, I love the game at least, the trailer is a real piece of something undesireable.

I think it is the teeth....long before i playd th game I was watching Sacred Ashs and my first thought was 'Why does everyone have huge upper teeth and no lower teeth?   And why are thier lips always pulled back...it is like the teeth are tring to escape all of the time!"

I think the CGI people think all women look like Billie Piper or something.

Eddie Izzard meets Joan Jett, then someone sprays her eyes with mustard gas and they get infected and bug-like. The mustard gas then gives her super acrobatic powers to flip and jump around, just like in the trailer! It's the equivalent reaction to Peter Parker's radioactive spider bite but the contaminent turns Morrigan into a blight spider! Oh boy...movie deal here we come! We just have to put in Tom Cruise, Kevin Costner and Keanu Reeves all starring as themselves with the latest crap alblum/soundtrack from Lady Gaga and we're ready to go.

I'm not a fan of the CGI image in the 1st post in this thread. It's a bit out of left field. If anything it looks like a very candid snapshot of a person about to sneeze or someone who just got a whiff of a foul odor. Personally, I don't consider it a good representation of Morrigan. Some images have been more feminine than others when it comes to Morrigan's looks but this image is just altogether unflattering in a multitude of ways, IMHO.

you know, that picture is like when someone takes a picture of you mid expression, so they get the weird half smile half normal look. but yeah i really liked the cgi version of morrigan. i liked the ingame version too, but i kinda prefer the cgi version. to me it looks a little more..hmm i dont want to say realistic. but believable than the almost "flawless" morrigan we have in the game. i think they tried to make her look "too good" in the actual game.

all that aside, the cgi version looks great.

Just an FYI Victorria Johnson doesn't even look like that. It's called good makeup, air brushing, and photo editing. Both Morrigan and Leliana (Alleykatze) were based off of real life models (you can find their profiles on Modelmayhem.com). You could even hire them to stand infront of you while you try to play with the character model and try to do a better job than bioware.

you also need to remember, like any good artist, they were using those models simply for inspiration and ideas of what they wanted to make the characters look like. they were not trying to make a video game version of the models. its like if your going to build a house, you look at other houses for inspiration and ideas.

On another note i personally prefer the CGI liliana over the in game liliana.
And the opposite is true for morrigan

That's hilarious. And, yeah, I have to agree. What woman looks attractive while in the middle of a psychotic sneer? You might as well take a screenshot of Leliana in mid-blink and say "Why is Leliana looking high all the time? What an ugly ****!"

I didn't mind the CGI Morrigan so much as the Leiliana. I like both of the ingame character models much more. Sten needs a friggin haircut ingame.
