Cameo. He was a compelling character it would be nice to see what he'd been up to, being a blood mage during the mage rebellion I mean.

He can be dead, so I guess a cameo is the most we'll see.

His cameo would hinge on the fate the player decided for him, but that ain't the Jowan i remembered! He supposed to look like Adrian Brody undergoing a mid life crisis.

I agree, I want to see the only bloodmage who didn't turn evil make a comeback.

Pretty much.

Unless BioWare has a diobolical scheme where they have many specific companions returning because of choices. Like maybe they could join in as companions if they are alive for a certain playthrough...ah well wishful thinking...

Sadly, not everyone spared my awesome blood mage bro. So I doubt this will happen.

Also, he's annoying. And whiny. And lies to his GF.

I doubt they would give a mostly inconsequential character like Jowan the Leliana treatment, even if he was compelling in Origins.

Don't talk about Alistair like that.

Oh wait, I don't care about Alistair. Go on.

In a best case scenario, he was either killed by the Circle or turned Tranquil.

I wish too, but there'll be mass complaints by players who'll miss out on the optional campanions, because they killed them previously.

He has been dead for for seven to ten years I think the likely hood of seeing him again is lower than the deep roads.

If he were available as a secret companion who could trade places with one of the featured companions in DA III (spoilers: like the secret companion could replace this character if a certain decision was made late in the game) and provided he survived a previous playthrough (or if no save file transfer was used, was available as a secret character by default), it might be kind of cool. I do however think that Jowan would probably have to be rewritten somewhat to work better as a companion. Jowan comes off as kind of a weak-willed weasel or at least his voice-actor played him that way.

Cool or not I'm not sure I can see BioWare allocating resources to a secret companion who was an NPC who could die. Redesigning Isabela and incorporating her into DA II was easy enough because she was an amusing minor character who existed primarily to teach the PC a new rogue specialization and secondly to provide some sex humour. She couldn't die in DA:O either which helped. Anders on the other hand could be sent away into Templar custody in Awakening, but his fate remained undetermined and we can safely assume that being the escape artist he is... well he escaped the clutches of his captors.

I'd much rather DA III give us a minor but memorable NPC from previous games and one that wouldn't have to be retconned out of dying, if that fate were possible. Jowan would work better in a side-quest, or even as a temporary, non-controllable companion in said side-quest.

As if that's ever stopped anyone in the DA-verse.

He can be dead. He isn't dead for sure. People presenting possible outcomes as absolutes is fast becoming one of my personal pet peeves here on BSN.

Well, okay, Zombie Jowan is in.  As long as he doesn't talk.

But you're not peeved that people were recommending he reappear because he's alive?

I think his voice actor has done some work for Guild Wars 2

Actually, he also voiced a huge number of inconsequential NPC's in Origins itself.  I think there's a point in Lothering where he actually voices 2 people in the same convo, so he's TALKING TO HIMSELF.

all I'm saying is that one because of the mage origen and red cliff he's to majar to come back, two whether he's alive or not depens on how you played in red cliff, and three if he was alive I think we would have heared something from a templer in DA2.
