think about it if you did the ending where you give your life how can you do the expansion pack...it takes place after the game so do play another character or what

You play as a new character, with the Orlesian Grey Warden origin. Importing your game still means that the things your character did are recognized, however.

Or just that you stopped the blight?

I'm not going to go into it. I will say, however, that EVERY choice you make isn't going to show up -- if you don't go to Redcliffe at any point in the story, for instance, then what you did there isn't really going to affect much, is it? But the short answer is that some of your choices do affect things, yes.

It's been pointed out to me since that my information is old -- so I'm going to have to mea culpa on that info and just back slowly out of here. This is why it's too early for us to start answering these sorts of questions, sorry.
