think about it if you did the ending where you give your life how can you do the expansion pack...it takes place after the game so do play another character or what

If u ever played the champion series for the ps2 they had a similar idea, make a character in the first game, beat it, import said character in the sequel without a logical transition. it doesn't always have to be completely logical. it probably sets u up on a completely new story, but with your previous character.

I was hoping that my character would be resurrected somehow. It'd be pretty cool if my character melded with the arch demon or if one of the new talking monsters would resurrect my character in hopes of turning me evil. If not, it'd be cool if they made the person you had a romance with have a child and you'll play as the son or daughter that looks like you.

You play as a new character, with the Orlesian Grey Warden origin. Importing your game still means that the things your character did are recognized, however.

So the remembrance thing that Alistair does for your character after your sacrifice would show somewhere ingame?  If so that would be cool. :)

David,

Didnt you just cast dispel hope in an earlier thread?

Your char's actions are recognized - meaning ally choices? Templar/Mage and Werewolf/Elf? Who you put on the throne?

Or just that you stopped the blight?

I'm not going to go into it. I will say, however, that EVERY choice you make isn't going to show up -- if you don't go to Redcliffe at any point in the story, for instance, then what you did there isn't really going to affect much, is it? But the short answer is that some of your choices do affect things, yes.

That's kind of a bummer. My first playthrough, I was going off my natural instincts and played as I felt my character should have and made the ultimate sacrifice. But I really couldn't think of a "realistic" way things could work out to bring him back from said outcome. At least I've got my answer. I hadn't played an rpg in a long time (think Zelda for Super NES). I can't believe that a game could present such intense choices and complex characters. I repeatedly found myself contemplating dialogue choices for mins. at a time. Kudos for an extremely compelling game and count me in on future projects!

Hm, I had understood it so far as if you could either continue right on with your old character, or restart with a new one as orlesian warden and play through the whole game as such again. Looks like I was wrong and the addon is more standalone than I thought. Kinda makes me sad, as I like addons/sequels that carry on instead of starting new, so you can have a truly magnificent epic once you get all parts. Just like Baldur's Gate was. Playing the whole trilogy with one character from level 1-40 was just epic scale. No other game before or after has ever reached that level of greatness.

What he was getting at luv, is IF your character lived, you can continue them in Awakening.
should your warden be dead, there is the Orlesian Warden origin.

Though naturally you DO have the option to use the orlesian anyway.

and the expansion would kick in Post corination...and perhaps a few months or years after :) so think of them as more " episodic mini sequils" if you will .

I'm confused. I imagine many of us here have many different characters with many different endings. How does the expansion choose which character and choices to continue, or not to continue? Will it be a character by character basis?

99% sure it will have a " load" option which accesses the save files and lets you pick and choose. most likely similar to how they are doing it with ME2

That seems the likeliest, TagImIt. If you play lots of ways, making lots of different decisions, I don't see how else that could be done.

In any case, that's a whole lot of effort on Team Bioware's part. Kudos.

What if you played through multiple endings with just one character? Which ending will the game choose?

My guess is either the savegame YOU pick or the last savegame (epilogue).

The ending that you load the save of, you can't have a save with more than one ending in it, though you can have multiple saves of different endings for the same character.

I wonder that too. No chance of playing a surviving character?

If your Character lived you can continue with that character into the expansion.
