DA:2 Haters - How can DA:3 redeem itself and save the series?

RESOLVE THE STORYLINE ISSUES!
I hate posting in caps, but I didn't want anyone to miss the point. What happened to Hawke? What happened to the Warden? What became of the OGB for those who did that path?
If Bioware doesn't resolve the storyline issues, I don't really care what happens with the DA franchise.

I am not coder but I would guess that modifying Varric's mold into female is not that big deal.
Obviously they had enough time to do it for DAO. <_<

In DA:O , though, that was a 'core' feature because dwarves were playable. It made sense to cut other features for the sake of female dwarves. It didn't make sense in reverse (though I think they should have gone with female rather than male dwarves - go matriarchy!).

This.
Honestly, it feels like Mass Effect 2 would feel like, if ME2 Shepard said "Reapers? What Reapers?" and disappeared somewhere, and instead of Shepard, Kaidan, a new captain of Normandy, suddenly decided to fight for the rights of the biotics. Which is all well and good, but, ahem - Reapers, anyone?
Someone said on these forums that while the darkspawn threaten Thedas, all the rest - civil wars, crowns, mages and their rights - mean as much as changing seats on Titanic. And I kind of agree. Well, here's hoping that talking darkspawn-magisters will get their time in the sun, although the whole idea of "a few mad mages decided to visit the Maker, and the Maker unleashed a horrible Blight upon the whole world, hence, all mages are evil(and Maker is not)" somehow doesn't sound very appealing.

But you genuinely had absolutely no gripes at all about the dialogue wheel (e.g. conversation limiting, too heavily reliant on feeling you were choosing based primarily on theme)? And you genuinely preferred the fairly limited impact your decisions had as opposed to them having more of an impact? And you didn't feel that DA2 had a rushed quality to the story progression?
For me I had a major problem with these issues though at this point it just feels like too much repetition to go thought them again as I have commented on them so many times.

I don't hate DA2 at all. It was okay. But I loved Origins.

1) No recycled environments (which has reportedly been fixed)
2) Choice of Origin (mostly fixed, though lack of choosing your race is a bummer)
3) An ending that actually branches and varies depending on your choices
4) Antagonists that aren't being controlled by an evil magical ring (or lyrium idol, is there a difference?)
5) Companions who aren't turned into tools for pointless drama, regardless of your relationship with them or your choices in the game. (looking at Anders and Alistair)
6) Ability to explore more than one city (Apparently fixed)
7) I WANT TO USE SPEARS AS A MELEE WEAPON! (personal nitpick of mine)

So cough..better story...cough...
I try not to repeat the obvious ones. Like you knoy story, no stupid enemy waves, chance to dress up ours companions, origins, everythign that was good in DA:O.
I want antagonist as Loghain was. Someone you hate most of the game, the actually decides to save him and suddenly fund out he is not so bad after all. Or the other way. Someone who appares to be ehn neutral the turns out to be antagonist. Please please can it be someone from the chantry? Thedas is way to fundamentalist for my liking. Actually I want a chance to blow up chantry by myself. So I would like to have antagonist who would go against the world, not only against one thing forcing player to choose between two sides. Because after DA2 there is a high chance this may end up as ME3.
Not forcing us to take sides by assasuling the player with waves of
insane mages. Or templars, thought it was mostly mages. I got bored with
that quite soon. Is there nothing else that can be used as a example of
evil in Thedas than magic... I know, I know its fantasy, but what about
about more Witcher (mostly books) or GOT style.
Anime look. Get rid of. Especially anime hair. Fenris was too bishounen as if he walked there from some anime, especially with that hair. Leave this to mods. I also dislike that pointy armour. Too much spikes...or buckles. I dont really need anime design in western RPG that is set in a medieval world.
Do not overuse the NPC hyperbolisation. Where is the subtle characterisation of the companions Bioware once had. Why is it that now we only get: overly sexi pirate, too naive and extremely cute blood mage, crazed warrior with I hate mages perk, psycho rebel mage or perfectly neutral comic relief dward. Too much.
Rouge class is jumping way too high. Swords are rather too big. Realistic element would be nice. Something in the Elder Scrolls style.
No robes for apostates.
And only one thing. Please be rpg again.
