You mean autolevel after hiring. Yes, that will not work, unless you override sys_autolevel_h and include your ALTable IDs in the appropriate function (open it up, you'll see how it's done for Morrigan, Leli et al).

Actually I hacked up the scripts to get it to work, but I went back the next day and figured out how to get it to work without the hacks. :-)

If you create a new package for your companion, there is a column where you can enter the ID of the AL table to use. If you do it this way, then you don't have to modify sys_autolevel_h. That is what I did so as to avoid modifying any BW scripts.
What column? Which file? Do tell!

Look in packages.xls. There is a column called LevelupTable. That links to a corresponding AL* table. For instance, row 81 is for Leliana. Her LevelupTable value is 258. If you look that up in 2DA_base, you'll see it links to ALLeliana.
Like FalloutBoy, I have created custom packages for party members and other creatures, and I am incredibly amazed at how robust the system is.

I saw this one and was wondering, maybe the "skill tree bug" is simply the hidden talent for being humanoid missing? I think it's in Chargen_SelectRace(), can't remember exactly though. Without it, the skill page doesn't show any skills. Can you please explain the skill (?) picker granting xp issue? I did not encounter this.Mengtzu wrote...
It is possible, but you're going to run into the bug with the skill tree not appearing, amongst other issues (the skill picker grants them XP, so it's very difficult to have them stay much below the PC in level).
