Agreed on both counts. Miranda would be my first choice from the current NPC's. Maybe they could make her ME4's protag.!

Then again, that wouldn't make sense because the EDI is toast because of the destroy ending, and since its destroy that will land shepard into the rubble, she can't rescue him.

* Shepard is on Earth. Shepard's physical body never made it to the Citadel.

* Instead Shepard got there by Astral Projection which is why everything got so weird.

* And that is why nothing made any sense with the kid and why the kid looked so weird and said those weird things. I mean shoot a stupid tube to destroy the reapers? Grab two control rods to control the reapers and electrocute yourself to death? Fly into a green beam of death to synthesize? Then if your EMS was high enough on Destroy you survive? Makes no sense. Unless....

* You never left Earth in the first place except by Astral Projection!

* But you do nothing to TIM except distract him so that Anderson can shoot him. You just think you shot him. Anderson, while he's fading in and out of consciousness on the deck sees you and you tell him which choice to make and he makes it. Meanwhile you are on earth, either dead, or alive, and you only live if you have high EMS and you tell him to choose Destroy. It doesn't really happen the way you see it at all.

This is why Harbinger leaves. Harbinger thinks you're dead.

You look at that and say that surviving makes sense? The problem is that the breath scene is almost certainly intended to suggest Shepard surviving but nothing we actually see gives any rational reason to think anything other than a very, very high probability of being dead. Admittedly you could say exactly the same about being blown out of a spaceship and crashing into a planet (and coming back from that didn't make any sense either) but it's a rather sad state of affairs to end up in when you've got to draw your conclusions about what's going on by second guessing what the writers' intention was rather than by what's shown on screen.

As soon as the rest of the endings make sense, then i will agree that Shepard died. But if the endings can make me depressed through events that are devoid of logic, I get to also have the good things that are devoid of logic as well.

Fair enough. After all the whole theme of the endings is "Anything, no matter how ridiculous, can happen."

Indeed. Well, I'm not saying he is. Because clearly the torso is there and he is breathing/taking a last breath.
