Just had a Hydra plat game right now with 2 guys doing that, and since that practice more often, was wondering if people going off-map may be reported or is that "clever use of the game's landscape"?

It feels like cheating to me, unlike the box/room of shame, since no enemy can seem to reach it.

There was a similar (now patched) incident on Condor. Someone correct me if I'm wrong but I think there were bans for those who habitually used it.

It's taking advantage of a quirk in the map design, which Bioware should fix really - fine line maybe but not as bad as the missile launcher glitch. I'd find it boring camping up there and have never tried it - never will.

Cheap players will do cheap things.

I know à few dirtbags who get up there during extraction waves.

I think it would be hilarious to get up there with à Huntress and solo Platinum by Dark Channeling everything.

I've tried it to finish my Reaper mastery...i don think it's ban worthy...i came down to help fallen comrades and do all the missions. I can see it sucking if someone stays there the whole time. btw i think it only works for characters that can roll

I believe it's a bannable offense. I ran into a couple gold games on there where the people there refused to come out of the spot so I had to send them a few less than pleasant messages telling them to get out of there to help with the objective.

It makes the game totally pointless and unfun.

Really, sit in a corner and spam powers, how is that in any way enjoyable for a player with half a brain?

Makes soloing take 3x as long and irritates the hell out of everyone on non-solo matches.

Very ban worthy. A spot that gave you an advantage is cleaver and nerf-able(old fbw), but an obvious map glitch is definitely an unfair advantage and is pretty much exploiting.

Had someone who did that once. Wasn't incidental, because map choice was set to Hydra. So I left after one game and sent him a message, fairly politely stating what I thought of his behaviour.

Whether its bannable or not, its just moronic. It takes a long time to finish a game just standing there

That is not the point. The point is that in the principle no spot on the map should be safe from enemies. Even the containers on Rio only limit access to the bigger enemies'melee, but they can still shoot you easily.
And i'd be glad to send emails to that me3mpcheaters email address each and everytime i see that, whether it's you being super-friendly to your teammates or unfriendly-guy #1, i could care less.
I just want to know if that email would be of any use.

Then why even start this topic asking if it's cheating? U seem to have already decided to just come on here and make urself to be the goody 2 shoes glitch police. You started this topic just to show the world what a fantastic guy u are and lecture them on morality. Next time name your topic glitch on Hydra is cheating imo.

I feel dirty when I'm in a game where people use it. Not sure if its bannable though. It is, however, exploitation of a non-intended feature of terrain in order to circumvent the game's difficulty and intended gameplay. So yeah, I think its cheating.

He's asking if Bioware has an official policy on whether or not it's cheating, because he wants to know if reporting will do any good.  He made that clear in his first post.  Your point that some of your teammates appreciated you glitching is irrelevant, since I'm sure there are lots of people glad when they enter a room with a rocket glitcher for easy credits.

People like when I do it =/= not cheating.

Back to OP:  It falls under the description of what Bioware considers cheating.  However, we don't really know what type of evidence Bioware needs or accepts in regards to dealing with people who glitch outside the map.  It's conceivable that if they receive reports from multiple different people about the same player glitching hydra, and then notice that that person plays most of his games on hydra, that will eventually lead to a ban.

It's also conceivable that Bioware won't do anything about it, as the data they receive on their end can't let them know when a player is outside the map.  Compare with the missile glitch, which is probably something like missile kill, missile kill, missile kill, missile kill, etc.

It is cheating, and I lose all respect for any player who uses it. It just tells me the player isn't skilled enough to hack it at whatever difficulty we are playing on, and instead of taking the time to to get valuable experience and improve, they've decided to exploit a glitch to stay out of harm's way and leave the hard work to their teammates.

Har har.  Glitching makes you a real rebel without a cause dog.  You keep on showing the man he can't keep you down!

That's right.  The other kiddies are doing it.  That means you have to.  It's like a rule.

Jebuz...stop repeating urself like an old record player...we know ur stance. Do u know what a question mark is for? Your post asked a question but u seem to be just using this thread to make urself look high and mighty. Btw I just said I didn't think it was never ban worthy. But that was enough for you to open your trap and start spewing rubbish.

Change the title of your post in form of a statement instead of a question form cuz you are just gonna **** on ppl who don agree with u. once again I only said I don't think it's ban worthy

It's not a high offense but it is still an offense. Worst that might happen to them is a manifest reset if you report the users of that glitch spot.
