I've seen people doing obvious exploiting of this glitch. They take Demolisher for infinate ammo and use a sniper rifle. With this they can sit up on the perch, slightly off-map covering their team mates. But if the team mates wipe during an objective wave then he/she has to complete it alone or die.

In short, it doesn't guarantee a win but it does raise your odds.

One of the moderators posted that it is a tier 3 bannable offense. FYI, if you do die there you get teleported back to the LZ fully alive...the spot is a cheat.

They should just make that area actually "Part of the map." Make it so enemeis can go up there, and remove the ability to jump into the water for insta-cross map teleportation.

Solved.

They could just stick an invisible box on the path up. Touching it causes you to die/bleed out instantly.

Or they could just put a few crates around the area and make the jump impossible to do.

It's as simple to fix as putting an "invisible wall" where you're supposed to dive.

I agree that it shouldn't be done.  But I don't think people should be banned for "Exploit Ridge,"(unless it's being used to solo Platinum or something) which is just BW being lazy.

It's not cheating but it is pretty dull.

A similar situation sometimes occurs on White, when the troops don't pop over the landing pad wall and just wait below. A well placed grenade will take them all out. You could argue that's cheating also.

Half say it cheating, half say its not. Its the same as the 66666 glitch. I have yet to see anyone from Bioware actually state whether either one is bannable or not. So please someone from Bioware could you post a response on one of these threads and let us know?

If abused I would assume it's bannable.

4 bad players desperate for credits sitting up there with pylons or PPRs would be an example.

Funny that this thread appeared yesterday. Last night I ran into some people doing this glitch last night. I did not notice it until wave 7 because the banshees were going over there instead of targeting me, then I noticed that the player xxxxx was up in the glitch area with at Black Widow.

It turned out that this vorcha guy was using a heavy melee was trying to get up there as well - could not figure out why he was heavy melee-ing the container at the bottom of the glitch area. I thought he was pissed at the guy as well, but in wave 9 when I got grabbed I noticed that he was in the glitched area as well.

Even though the two of them came down for the objective on wave 10, it really made it difficult for the two of us where were not using the glitch - we had to serve as banshee bait so those guys could shoot them.

I wrote the guys gt down ( xbox ) and will report him if its bannable.

Replying to an old thread but i always hoped bioware would patch the map with a sign saying "no camping allowed" blocking the spot, that would be funny.

To me, that just feels wrong compared to the running with the pizza box objective, because it just feels like more of an exploit of a glitch, whereas running with the pizza box doesn't really feel like a "glitch" although it still feels like an exploit. As if the Hydra glitch is exploiting something inherently wrong with the game code itself (I know this isn't technically accurate but I'm just using this as a metaphor) whereas the pizza box running is exploiting something inside it and is more a matter of taking advantage of game mechanics.
