Rape is also defined, as taking something by force, doesn't necesarilly (misspelled) mean sexual. My advice, take a chill pill.

It's not meant as an offence because sadly it's all too often true. But please note the inclusion of pampered. I'm not saying that every straight, white guy is happy to hit the discrimination button; But what I am saying is that if someone hasn't encountered such suffering, it's easy for them to make jokes about it. It's the same thing with war veterans, people might make war jokes with them in the room and it can seriously screw with them. I've encountered a lot of gay bashing in my long life. Yet it was rarely ever from ethnic minorities, the vast majority of it was from the straight, white type, often the religious and narrow-minded, with their first world problems. You have to understand that that majority has it really easy to compared to everyone else, for anyone who isn't in that bracket, they'll have encountered a whole bunch of **** in their lives, then there are others who'll have suffered more.

But some things can drive your empathy dial up to 10. I just find that sometimes the more pampered sorts can use a wake-up call to tell them that, hey, those 'jokes' are actually hurtful. You can't understand that because you've never been in a position of great adversity and suffering. But they still hurt, a lot.

I want to think highly of the Bioware community, but when this kind of thing is going on... that's hard.

And please let's not get into how discriminated against straight, white, average, pampered, unabused people are, and the fallacy of how hard they've had it.

I think this whole thread is a shame. Rape is not funny at all. A joke was made, bad taste? Most likely. Freaking out about it? Not needed. And, I for one am tired of making excuse WHY I am a White Hetro Male. And ethnic minorities don't gay bash? I don't know were you live, but in many ethnic communities you better hide you are gay. It can cost you your life very easy.

I do think that the poster should not complain when this person themself has viloated the rules. I think you Americans should maybe take a chill pill and relax abit. You can live longer that away. Just don't read the posts or just walk away from such people.

Op's solution ignores the cause of the perceived problem.

Forcing everyone to walk on egg shells won't help.

Also, op's comment about white males says more about the op than bsn.

Oh and we can joke about anything, I could joke about sushi coming alive and perhaps someone here on BSN could remember their time when they went to Japan, the Yakuza shot up the sushi place and his sushi was poisoned so he went to the hospital while having diarrhea.

Ok I haven't read the whole thread but from I've seen enough to get pissed off.

OP might be overreacting and therefore easy to dismiss that's not the point. I'm all for freedom of speech and don't think anything should be avoided in humor, but that doesn't mean you can't be an insensitive douchebag when you say something.
