I just checked chris priestly profile and he changed his status 2 hours ago to:

" Chris Priestly bears the weigh of both bad and good news"
IMO the bad news is that return to ostagar will take about a month to be released and the good news will be that the RtO will be released for all platform at the same time or they fixed some kind of bug

Please don't speculate needlessly about RTO's release date. You'll only insite another flame war.

Sometimes flaming is needed. They announced 2 release dates, took them both back..and one actually just hours before it was going to be released, just saying there was something wrong and not even bother telling us anything, then go about shutting down the thread when people rather have fun than sit there and complain about their lies...it reminds me of Nippon Ichi and Disgaea where they promised something, took it back, than brought it back, took it back and now we are still waiting, 3 months later.
Sometimes a company needs to hear it. If I pulled this on my customers, they wouldn't be my customers anymore that is for sure.

Sorry, they locked the RtO forum so I had to come here. Expect the rest soon.

anyways when can we expect an eta on the info about the eta?

as stated they wont give a new ETA as they have missed 2 already...... its somewhere in the 200+ pages of the forums that chris said this.

That's a smart move. Giving another ETA and missing it would prob have people mailing anthrax to their offices.

You mean you guys didn't mail yours this morning? Son of a b*tch, I was snookered again. Now they'll only get mine and while you guys go to Ostagar, I'll go to Guantanamo...Oh yeah! The big eared goofy guy closed Gitmo, yay!

While I wouldn't say that RtO would be the DLC that makes or breaks people's willingness and confidence in buy such content, its definitely shaping up to be 'getting it right the first time' scenario. Better to have a well polished and relatively bug free product with the first offering than have a multitude of people creating bad publicity for a burgeoning market.

Bad publicity? It has already happened, there are other forums out there with many people complaining and even comparing this to the hype and failure of Aion...

Wiser words have never been spoken. Today at least. They should have hired you for that DnD movie.

MOST times..flaming is NOT needed..thats what gets threads closed...........you are mistaken.

Flaming does NOT equate to constructive criticism.   If you doubt what I say..google constructive criticism.

If your customers nagged you day in and day out for silly things..I highly doubt you'd want them to continue.

When I say something is going to be there and then suddenly I go "Oh darn...problem, sorry" they'd never come back, I'm an artist and a baker...if I pulled this twice on my customers, they'd have my head but then again I have always been a person that when I say something I mean it..and people think constructive criticism is flaming half the time and just whine and flame back.

My first thought was "A MONTH! you have to be kidding!"

And I am a pretty mellow guy, so yeah, probably not a great idea to move that status message around. The RTO delay thread (which got really crazy towards the end) would pale in comparison to the outrage, sad but true.

Trust me, he is correct. It would have been 100x worst if they rushed a buggy release.

Look at this game.

It was so buggy at release that 3 months later the price dropped from 40 dollars to 7.50 on steam, impulse, you name it. And their game forums were something out of a Dante novel.

There will always be bugs, that is the problem. They could release it tomorrow and plenty of people will get bugs...people will always complain but when you say something, you should mean it...not pull it from under people at the last minute, that is what pisses people off more.

So..do you flame your customers...because you state.."sometimes flaming is needed"....I have been in customer service for quite some years.

One thing you don't do is flame your customer even if they are wrong.

There is no excuse for flaming..none ..nada, its rude..bad mannered and childish.

Erm, it just says for his status "bear the weight of good and bad news" nothing about dates... phew. That would have been bad.

When I have a customer that is an absolute ****...oh you bet your bottom dollar I **** him out and send him on his merry way...I find no excuse when someone is rude, but I am talking about the company here....if I told my customers they would have something by a date, they would have it by that date...no ands if or butts about that one. Imagine, hours before your wedding day, you get a call from your cake designer "Oh darn, we ran into a problem, we have to pospone your cake!" what would you think then?

I'm annoyed as everyone else probably is, but i'd much rather wait until the content is bug free rather than buying it and having a bug that no longer allows me to progress, in which we'll have to wait for a patch anyway.

We here at the social site that post regularity represent the most dedicated fan to the game and are not the general voice of the public. We have strong opinions on both sides of the spectrum and most criticisms that you see here are from a small vocal minority. A few hundred people do not represent the community as a whole.

The kind of bad publicity that I am talking about is those main gaming sites that would review RtO and content like it. Such opinions tend to influence the vast horde of other gaming affiliated sites and can snowball fairly quickly from that. Word of mouth is still a big seller of gaming related products that I have seen producers and developers take special care in how their product is received by the general media.

You know... I gotta stick up for Chris and the rest of the Bioware team. They have delivered us a good and enjoyable product with DA:O. And they are working on fixing the bugs we do have with it.

About RtO: Yes it sucks to be delayed but come on people... 1) They did tell us whats up. Somthing is wrong with it and they want to make it better so that we can enjoy it to the fullest. Now while thats not a technical answer like "its a bug with code line x" but we should not need that. They are on our side guys, they want us to enjoy it and so they are trying to make it possible.

2) They only refuse to give an ETA because you all ****ed and moaned the last two times when it was given and not held up, now you **** cus they dont give you one. Its hard for them because in essence they can't win with your logic.

In the end. It will be out, when its out, and it shall be good. Until then go back to your normal lives. We all have normal lives right?

They need a sign...

"We reserve the right to refuse service to anyone"

Or they can have the devs post "No soup for you!"
