I just checked chris priestly profile and he changed his status 2 hours ago to:

" Chris Priestly bears the weigh of both bad and good news"
IMO the bad news is that return to ostagar will take about a month to be released and the good news will be that the RtO will be released for all platform at the same time or they fixed some kind of bug

If you wish to discuss games other than DAO, please use our Off-Topic forum. Please don't hijack a thread to do it. Thank you.

Indeed, why don't we all chill out?

Please don't discuss pirated games here (legit or not), even if "a friend" played it. Thanks!

I hope theyre doing something about all this, or it might very well have serious effects on their credibility.

Not to get argumentative with you or anything, but delays happen. Origins was delayed by 8 months back in March, and the reaction was similar -- and understandable. I know it's frustrating when you want to play something right now, when promised, and I certainly have no illusions that players are (or should be) interested in the business decisions we're forced to make. Delays occur in the development world on a constant basis, and the reaction is always the same from disappointed fans. Be that as it may, I think our credibility is based on delivering a quality product. In the end, I would hope that's worth waiting for.

Oh it is defo worth waiting for but delays seem to have become standard over the last couple of years. No games release date has any credibility anymore, wether it be bioware or not.

Couple of years? Every game I've worked on has had its release pushed back to one degree or another, and it's always met with understandable dismay. The same is true for just about every development house out there, and that's for a lot longer than a couple of years. I think the only time you're going to encounter a game that's released on time the first time it's promised is when you're dealing with a game that hasn't communicated its intention to release until very late... but does that happen? Fact is, both the media and the fans are always clamoring to know, as far in advance as they can, when they can expect their favorite title to come out. It's a catch-22, unfortunately, because while keeping news of your game close to your chest might prevent disappointment it would also result in the same accusations of secrecy and prevent a company from building up excitement over the game to begin with.

And that's just a reality of the business. I feel for you guys, but this is nothing new.

The thing is, we understand delays, but you havent given us a real reason for why it was delayed. Just some vague thing about delivering a better quality product. If the problem wasnt discovered until hours before the release, it couldnt have been THAT big if it wasnt noticed until so late.

I'm not sure what information you're looking for. A long-winded explanation on the exact reasoning behind a business decision isn't going to help you, nor is it particularly appropriate. We've told you what we can, that we're working on it (eagerly) and that you'll get more info on the release as soon as we know more. That's really all we can do.

And speaking of which, I'm going to step back out of this thread before the target on my head becomes too tempting. This isn't an issue I can address anyhow, as DLC is not my province -- I'll leave that to Fernando. Hope you guys enjoy RtO when it comes out. Keep the faith! Posted Image

Last time I'll post this warning. This isn't an appropriate forum to discuss pirated software or post pictures referring to it, real or fake. Thank you kindly.

The pirated version of Return to Ostagar for PC is already released. No bugs have been found so far. I don't know how Bioware wants to explain this. Now almost every PC Gamer will play the pirated release because they don't want to wait almost 1 month for the official one. And than EA can whine about no one buying DLC...

If there is a pirated version, it is not the one we intend to release. If you cannot respect us, then respect the other people on this forum by not advertising the fact that it (allegedly) exists. We've already said that we'll look into it, but we do not wish pirated software of any sort discussed on our forums. If you wish to discuss it elsewhere, you are free to do so.

I'm sorry all, but since people cannot seem to understand this fact I'm shutting down this thread. If you wish to continue discussion on RtO, please do it in the sticky community update thread or in a new thread with the explicit warning that further discussion of pirated software will result in bans.

This is not us trying to "cover something up". This is us rightfully expecting to be respected for the work that we do. And I apologize that this is necessary. Thanks to all of those who have been so understanding.
