You know why people lose their job if they don't explain themselves? Because they lose customers, so if you want to see them pay the way they would in real life, ask for a refund on those bioware points, then don't buy RTO. You go on and on about how them not telling us is wrong, but you won't be willing to protest that with cold hard cash will you?
No, you won't, and that is why they don't need to tell us, we will still buy it when its out.

We found an issue" at the last minute, the customers would be like "Okay, what issue and how long will it take" and they just say "An issue, we don't know the time" they'd be like "Don't deliver here ever again" and they would lose their job....if I did that, though my issues are usually adding just like one egg too many in the batter...I atleast tell my customers, I would not have them as customers anymore. I'm not trying to be a jerk either but....real life doesn't work this way. I am sure when someone found this issue they told their boss otherwise there would be no job for that person.
Atleast other companies have told us why there was a delay....but then again...can't always work that way it seems with some companies.
You're comparing the development of a multi-million dollar piece of software to product fulfillment and cooking? Wow. You really don't understand how much goes into getting a game together.
But, let us use your parents as an example. When they are late to make a delivery because the soda was late being delivered to them, what do they tell their clients? Probably something along the lines of, "Sorry, the delivery was late so I got out of the depot later than usual." Am I right? That is perfectly acceptable.
Do they tell the client why it was late? What bottling machine broke down? Maybe the forklift ran out of gas? How about the guy manning Line 1 has a little drinking problem and fell asleep on the stop button again?
Telling you that it was delayed due to a bug is a decent amount of information for a software company. In all honesty, BioWare needs to learn to stop giving release dates.
My parents deliver the cans, the whole production doesn't start unless they are there with the cans to be filled, that is by far more important then the final product...but yes my parents tell Coke, Pepsi, etc...why they are late even if it means saying traffic, someone didn't fill the trailer and they had to sit there for hours because if you do not, you lose that contract....and that money. And the Coke, Pepsi trucks you see roaming around, those are the ones with the filled cans or bottles, and yes they are to tell the places they are going to why they are late if they are late. And Coke and Pepsi are multi-million dollar companies.

Oh and sephris....you would be truly amazed and staggered...at exactly how many people have Bioware points that they have PAID for sat on their accounts right now, in the anticipation of RtO being out yesterday.
Bioware have been paid their dues, EA are getting theirs, and right now, my money is not earning me money becasue its no longer in mym account, its in Biowares/EA's....
Do not be fooled, they have thousands sat in the bank from pre paid points orders....now, if Bioware pay back the interest that my money is collecting in their account....then fair enough...if they are not going to do that, then Id like an explanation of what went wrong. Can I help, probably not, but least i'd know.
You bought points the transaction is now complete. Maybe in the future to avoid being upset you actualy wait till the release to avoid any such frustrations.

The cause of this mess was a bug of some king, we will not be informed what king of bug, and we don't need to be.
It is delayed for an unknown amount of time, and we will be told its coming out, probably the moment it comes out.
Yes we do need to be informed, you are telling me...that you can just tell your customers that it was some massive issue and it is delayed and they will be like "Okay, sounds fine with me." yeah maybe those who don't care but those who do will demand an answer...just like some of us here. Most people would get fired for just saying "It was an issue" not telling the issue and then in no uncertain terms to tell us to shut up.
Get over it, they don't owe you an answer. They said it was delayed, maybe because they just feel like ruining your day. Chances are there was a gameplay/performance issue that impacted development and they didn't want to release a junk product. If they did, everyone would complain that they released a junk product. They truly can't win with internet posters. I'm not trying to be a jerk, but the reason is always gameplay/performance/logistical. They aren't going to delay a product because they don't want to start making money off of it just yet.
If you don't like when software is delayed, simply don't purchase it. Of course, good luck ever getting games since the vast majority are delayed at least once.

It sucks that the DLC is late. BioWare certainly screwed up. They didn't mess up by not giving enough information about the delay, they messed up by giving bad ETAs. After it failed to make the December 25th date, they should have taken a step back and been slower to give another date. Obviously, thinking they could resolve the issue in one week was a bad idea.

it means that you have sat in this thread demanding answers to something you don't even have. you expect bioware to cave in to what you want because it suits you. maybe, just maybe, they're all working to try and fix it and don't have time at the moment to hop on a forum and address your concerns within your specifications. that's what i mean.jennamarae wrote...

While I reaaaaaaaalllllllly want this new DLC, I'm not going to get too bent out of shape about it. I have 1600 microsoft points for my xbox that I was going to use some of for the DLC. I'm just going to spend them on something else, and when the DLC finally does come out, I will buy another card and get it then. Really, the only people that have any reason to complain now are those that pre-paid and have been screwed out of the download for the second time. The option to get your money back should be given in that case.
Waiting sucks. But it is a part of life. Problems suck, but they are the only way we learn how to avoid them in the future. We have to wait while they take care of their problems. But we can make it come into our hands faster. We do have that power. It's called don't make any more problems for them to have to deal with. Have you ever tried to focus on doing something with someone b*tching at you in the background? Whether they have a point to what they are saying or not, you aren't going to get the job done well if you can't focus. And trust me,what goes on here is well known to everyone there. They know we are upset, and I can pretty much guarantee you they aren't withholding the DLC just to laugh at all of us when we are not happy about it. We haven't entered the Dark Side, Chris Priestly isn't really Darth Vader in disguise, (though it would be kind of cool if he was), so gathering up a group of rebels to fight Bioware is just kind of senseless. lol
It's fine to vent your frustration, but I promise you they are doing everything they can to get you the content as soon as they can, and make sure it is a product that isn't going to end up for them like the Chinese lead painted toys did for Walmart.

Ok everyone...one thing we need to
understand is that technology is not perfect. Just look at your own
computer and you know this for a fact.
They shouldn't make checks they can't cash. If anything, the Mass Effect DLC/Pinnacle Station/patching debacle should have shown Bioware's awesome commitment to their DLC sideshow and service after sell three-ring circus. They are still having problems and it will take more time
than they expected to take care of it. It sucks for us, it sucks for
them. We don't get the DLC right now, they don't get the huge chunk of
added income they were expecting. But they have told us what we needed
to know.
No,,, I like my tourch and pitchfork. Fact of the matter is, they made a blunder and their PR is going to take the hit. To "sweep" this under the rug would be a grave injustice indeed. As players, we can be angry about not getting out
DLC on time yet again, but at this point we need to just back off a bit
and give the devs some breathing room.
Pff, I highly doubt that. Perhaps they did in the past, I haven't seen anything recently to show that they, are in fact, "doing what they can for us".They are doing what they can for
us.
Perhaps, but EA would never go for it. They already got their money, they could give a ****** about the paying consumer.I do feel bad for those that pre-paid for the DLC.... *snip*
----
Anyway, as a long time Bioware fan, I am disappointed how far they have fallen. If this is someone's first Bioware game, I would be hestitant to buy another product from them again. Hell, I am hestitiant to buy another game from them.
From where I am sitting, it might actually take them 2 years to release a 1 hour DLC.
---
Someone ealier mention how far the DA:A release date will be pushed back? I'll throw in 5 cookies and an empty bottle of beer for the July of 3329.

actually, economics. i'm not in college anymore. i'm working in the real world. do you think that if sony delays a new tv for a few weeks they jump on the internet and announce to everyone that the guy who does qc on a certain part missed something and they need to correct a problem because of it? no. they say it'll be delayed and come back later with the new product. this type of business is totally different from a service oriented business. if your service is delayed, then the product you are already obligated to provide is causing issues with your client. in bioware's case, they are not contracted to us to give us dlc by a certain date. they are releasing a retail item to be sold to the public. when it is time, they will produce it and make it available. you are comparing apples and oranges.Dahelia wrote...
