actually, economics. i'm not in college anymore. i'm working in the real world. do you think that if sony delays a new tv for a few weeks they jump on the internet and announce to everyone that the guy who does qc on a certain part missed something and they need to correct a problem because of it? no. they say it'll be delayed and come back later with the new product. this type of business is totally different from a service oriented business. if your service is delayed, then the product you are already obligated to provide is causing issues with your client. in bioware's case, they are not contracted to us to give us dlc by a certain date. they are releasing a retail item to be sold to the public. when it is time, they will produce it and make it available. you are comparing apples and oranges.

I'm sure you are.....if my service is delayed, I am on the phone and yelling at the people. You really think I am one of those people who is like "Okay, you did this, that is fine, I'll sit here with my thumb up my butt and not say a word" pfft....

Call EA and yell at them. Seriously, you're a hell of a lot of talk, and no walk.

Don't know me too well to actually say that. I've screamed at NcSoft, Microsoft, and Sony before...EA will be no different other than instead of a 30 hour wait it will be 3 hours....and I did post the transaction number for the paypal dispute, but it linked to my account.

Trajan, I understand that you are miffed...but you need to stop being childish. Your posts are also not on-topic and this thread has been warned about that. You deserve the almighty ban hammer.

Yep I agree everyone needs to stay on topic. I myself am tired of having good discussion threads about this topic closed because of this issue. If you don't have anything new and good to contribute to the topic at this time just read it and Iam.

The topic so far: Greywardens.com or whatever had a clock counting down until the RTO release, it was wrong.

The cause of this mess was a bug of some king, we will not be informed what king of bug, and we don't need to be.

It is delayed for an unknown amount of time, and we will be told its coming out, probably the moment it comes out.

Yes we do need to be informed, you are telling me...that you can just tell your customers that it was some massive issue and it is delayed and they will be like "Okay, sounds fine with me." yeah maybe those who don't care but those who do will demand an answer...just like some of us here. Most people would get fired for just saying "It was an issue" not telling the issue and then in no uncertain terms to tell us to shut up.

Get over it, they don't owe you an answer.  They said it was delayed, maybe because they just feel like ruining your day.  Chances are there was a gameplay/performance issue that impacted development and they didn't want to release a junk product.  If they did, everyone would complain that they released a junk product.  They truly can't win with internet posters.  I'm not trying to be a jerk, but the reason is always gameplay/performance/logistical.  They aren't going to delay a product because they don't want to start making money off of it just yet.

If you don't like when software is delayed, simply don't purchase it.  Of course, good luck ever getting games since the vast majority are delayed at least once.

They do owe us an answer! Like I said before...if anyone else in the real world pulled this stunt, they would have no job. My parents deliver for Coke, Pepsi, etc...and if they said "Oh darn! We found an issue" at the last minute, the customers would be like "Okay, what issue and how long will it take" and they just say "An issue, we don't know the time" they'd be like "Don't deliver here ever again" and they would lose their job....if I did that, though my issues are usually adding just like one egg too many in the batter...I atleast tell my customers, I would not have them as customers anymore. I'm not trying to be a jerk either but....real life doesn't work this way. I am sure when someone found this issue they told their boss otherwise there would be no job for that person.
Atleast other companies have told us why there was a delay....but then again...can't always work that way it seems with some companies.

completely different! that's a service being paid for to have a product be delivered. this is an entertainment product not yet released! they're not even in the same ballpark! self entitlement to the fullest.

Many people already bought these points last year expecting a Christmas release which they said....then waited for the 5th release, which they pulled hours before release with just the answer "We had an issue." I smell a fanboy *grins* :wizard:

a fanboy? no. i just come fom the school of thought that the customer is not always right. most of the time, they are actually wrong. i prefer buyer beware to diving in because someone says so. because of that, i did not buy points. i can wait until rto comes out. i do like bioware, but i do not let my liking bioware cloud my judgement.

In other words, company can't do wrong, everyone else is wrong...fanboy! :wizard:

Strangely enough, the people that are venting their anger the loudest are probably the same people that would be spamming the boards with their inane rants had the DLC been released with major bugs. Damned if you do, damned if you don't.

I just checked chris priestly profile and he changed his status 2 hours ago to:

" Chris Priestly bears the weigh of both bad and good news"
IMO the bad news is that return to ostagar will take about a month to be released and the good news will be that the RtO will be released for all platform at the same time or they fixed some kind of bug

Please don't speculate needlessly about RTO's release date. You'll only insite another flame war.

Sometimes flaming is needed. They announced 2 release dates, took them both back..and one actually just hours before it was going to be released, just saying there was something wrong and not even bother telling us anything, then go about shutting down the thread when people rather have fun than sit there and complain about their lies...it reminds me of Nippon Ichi and Disgaea where they promised something, took it back, than brought it back, took it back and now we are still waiting, 3 months later.
Sometimes a company needs to hear it. If I pulled this on my customers, they wouldn't be my customers anymore that is for sure.

MOST times..flaming is NOT needed..thats what gets threads closed...........you are mistaken.

Flaming does NOT equate to constructive criticism.   If you doubt what I say..google constructive criticism.

If your customers nagged you day in and day out for silly things..I highly doubt you'd want them to continue.

When I say something is going to be there and then suddenly I go "Oh darn...problem, sorry" they'd never come back, I'm an artist and a baker...if I pulled this twice on my customers, they'd have my head but then again I have always been a person that when I say something I mean it..and people think constructive criticism is flaming half the time and just whine and flame back.

So..do you flame your customers...because you state.."sometimes flaming is needed"....I have been in customer service for quite some years.

One thing you don't do is flame your customer even if they are wrong.

There is no excuse for flaming..none ..nada, its rude..bad mannered and childish.

Gee, but isn't that what Stanley did when he responded to a comment that we were being treated like children by saying that our behavior suggested that we should be treated like children? Then he shuts down the other thread NOT because of flaming but because of off-topic discussion.

You know what shutting down just about all discussion of the Bioware screw-up does? Irritates more customers to the point of wanting to flame, rather than calming anything down. Now people who wanted to vent their frustration within constructive criticism are being silenced at every turn because a group of posters decided to talk about cake pants and Stanley thought that was a justifiable reason to lock the thread.

Every bit of how they're handling this exhibits terrible customer service. Mind you: when the product gets released is NOT customer service, but how you approach informing your customer and how you handle their questions and frustration IS very much part of customer service. They've failed on that front.

It couldn't come soon enough. Holy God, I think everyone on the internet is now officially mentally disabled due to the nature of the discussions here in the last 48 hours.

I'd nuke the whole board, ban half the members based on a random number generator, and crack open a cold one.

it means that you have sat in this thread demanding answers to something you don't even have. you expect bioware to cave in to what you want because it suits you. maybe, just maybe, they're all working to try and fix it and don't have time at the moment to hop on a forum and address your concerns within your specifications. that's what i mean.

Careful, your ignorance is showing.

I hadn't even seen this thread until a few minutes before I posted, so I haven't been "sitting in this thread". A mod said they found something odd and didn't understand it, I explained it from my point of view. I didn't demand anything, most certainly not that Bioware cave in to my demands. Claiming I did shows your lack of reading comprehension and eagerness to jump all over someone for not thinking exactly as you do.

While I'm sure a life of just accepting things and never questioning is delightful for some, I prefer my ability to think and question and I will continue to do so whether you like it or not. Ever notice how some people are referred to as the greatest thinker of their time? Notice how there's not a single person ever referred to as the greatest follower? Thinking = good. I know I used some really big words in my first post that you may have misinterpreted as demands, but I'd suggest you go read it again and notice the complete lack of a single one. Questions? Yes. Demands? No.

Now, if you're quite done trying to berate me for things I didn't actually do this thread can move forward. I'd imagine it will do quite well without you constantly berating people. You like being kept in the dark? Fine, wonderful. But I have to wonder why you're even here if that's the case.

Good, now lets all reflect of how much bioware will learn from this horrible mistake. Well, after they count their money pile, because 99.99% of the other fans will still be getting it.

For those of you that did not see this, this is from Chris Priestly:

We found a last minute issue and had to delay Return to Ostagar to make sure we deliver the highest quality experience to you, our fans.

We will update once we have more information regarding the new date. We are working to get Return to Ostagar out to you as soon as possible.

I will try talking to Chris personally, and I will let you know if I get a reply, as well as to what he says in it.

again. bioware is not a service. the cable company, for instance,  is a service. if the cable company turns off your cable and gives you nothing that is different.

Oh and as for the smart ass witty and sarcastic answer regarding buying points.

last week i had the money, I could not guarantee that on the 5th i owuld have the money (you know, some of us see games as a luxuary, we don't all have money falling out of our ass)...so i paid for them knowing that when RtO came out, the points were there ready.

Still my fault and lesson learnt?
