Thats why I said a rough ETA. I'm sure they have a rough idea of whether its going to take a few hours or a few weeks.

Out of curiosity, were you present for the original RtO thread before the first delay?

We probably won't get a rough ETA thanks to that thread.
People got waaaaay too specific over what the rough ETA of "This holiday season" meant. People were on there Christmas eve demanding heads on silver platters because "'this holiday season' means ON christmas aaaaaarrrrrghblood!"

I expect that it'll be at least two weeks sadly. A day or two to fix the problem, a week for certification, and then a week after it's ready so that the release date can be nailed. Unfortunate for us but effective for later saying "look we apologize for those delays but we totally nailed that release date!"

Ah, and now we see. Dahelia doesn't even know what Dahelia really wants.

So, instead of explaining herself like a real human being, she tosses out ANOTHER insult calling us ignorant, and says our posts are somehow below here because we don't agree.

Well guess what, maybe you should think about being a little more grateful hmm? They did listen to people like you, people who said the DLC wouldn't be good enough. So they delayed it and made it better. You win!

Awww...you think you know something. That is soooo sweet...but I am not going to even start with you because I will not be dragged down to your level. I never said I wanted it to be better, I want an answer, not what they want to answer....they tell us, but won't tell us what is wrong, how long it will take and everything else. When I said it was a just a copy and paste of everything else, meaning we already knew all this, new information would be better. I get jumped on just like I have always been when I say something about wanting answers in any forum filled with fanboys who are just grateful with the same repeated answers.

Of all the people here, you should know how dangerous those new answers can be.

All you have to do is give a small peice of information, and you can start a ****storm. You don't seem to get that ALL of us want more information too, but the rest of us are mature enough to know that it sometimes is better to leave the angry mob in the dark so they can't see you.

But they can...you have not seen riots have you?

Internet riots? no.

You're asking for more information than they have, they can't come running in and spew a bunch of specualtion. We can spew all the speculation we want, but others will treat their word as law.

Yes, I want to see them answer your question, but they're not going to. They don't need to, they probably don't feel safe doing so, and they shouldn't. Maybe in a day or two they will answer your question, but at the moment there just probably isn't enough information to give a coherent analysis.

Chances are they WANT to tell you, but they information has to go through a superior first, and everyone knows how they are.

Yes, that is why I believe they know more then they are letting on but of course the superiors will only let what is good for them go out...which is utter bull...and I am not talking about internet riots...though I have seen one...or one that was pretty close...it was over Twilight/Harry Potter. It was frightening.

Calling us childish for not being on topic is technically off-topic. Why dont you stop being off-topic? Its quite childish of you.;)

Hey "smart guy" you know what i childish?posting about something that is TOTALLY un relevant with the whole bioware community like : i wearing black shoes right now and im happy about that" and "I loved my wedding cake"

Guys, this is way off the topic. I think everyone should respect each others' comments/opinions and not resort to personal insults. After all its just a game forum. Peace!! And for those people who think that they have a satisfactory answer they should get off this post & stop bugging people who'd like to know more!!(opnion loudly).

Dude, the large majority of the people I see whining are the people who are complaining about off-topic discussions. Seems like all the other people are just speculating about why the DLC was delayed and asking for a time.

This is what I mean, they're not cackling madmen hatching their next plan to keep us out of the loop. They really don't owe us any answers as to what went wrong, just that something did. I want an ETA too, but they can't pull ANOTHER date out of their ass, clearly.

When there is an ETA, we'll get it. As for the rest, you're just **** out of luck, they're not going to explain it to anyone who doesn't need to know for the sake of doing their job correctly. Obviously they know more than we do, but they're employees, they do as they're told, and if they've been told not to release some info, they won't

You can call us immature all you'd like, we know that limitations exist.

Well it was more to the insults and the name calling going on but yes being off topic is another way to get it locked down.

See it seems like many in here would like to be treated and spoken to as adults but want to act like children. You do not get to have it both ways.

ERIC MENTIONED CAKE :)

And going to chip in AND be on topic (wow your stunned arnt you? cmon, I knpow your out there, I can hear you typing)...

The response was so generic my cat could have come up with that. All kudos to the dev, I like him, seems a stand up guy, but that response wasvery scripted. it was simple, to the point, and told us nothing.

Bit like a government, and we all know how corrupt they are. There would be no harm at all in them saying, look guys, dont look good, might be a few weeks. We would all shut up then. If it came out before then, they would be gods in the gamers eyes, if not, we had a 'it might take a few weeks'...so no one would really blink....

Yeah we got an answer, and it was about as informative as a dead informer.

While I wouldn't say that RtO would be the DLC that makes or breaks people's willingness and confidence in buy such content, its definitely shaping up to be 'getting it right the first time' scenario. Better to have a well polished and relatively bug free product with the first offering than have a multitude of people creating bad publicity for a burgeoning market.

Or even better, have it ready well before the release of the initial game so you don't get burned by 2 failed ETAs.
Enchantment?
After ME2 comes out who would be playing this game if they bought it at release?
Not me.
Now, I realize the majority of the upset people are people in my boat that have had the game a while.
Lesson learned: stop buying games at release and you can get into it AFTER DLCs are out and not have to be waiting....so you see, it's OUR fault for buying the game and supporting Bioware at release, for top dollar. We are idiots.
The expansion makes sense, but if the DLC does not come out before ME2 I cannot see me prying myself away from that game for an hour of DA, but then again I paid top dollar for the game. If someone buys it now for cheaper and then buys the DLC they in effect spend about what I did...or less.
Of course many people smarter than I will have gotten DA more recently, and be none the wiser to all this delay, and then also get ME2 later on and ALSO not be waiting for DLCs.
So, it's the people who buy games at release who are ignorant. We suck!!!
So, buy games 2 months after release and there will be no waiting for anything.
(I already have my ME2 pre-order, so yes, <---------still a fanboy moron)

If you want answers, we know, we do too. But you were saying that you are somehow entitled to the answers. Answers that may not even exist. They will tell us what we need to know, its not the end of the world. I think they're smart enough to know that were unhappy about being left in the dark, but wanting answers doesn't mean there are any.

Maybe it's an EA policy to not divulge too much information... EA has never been very good at giving reasons for anything other than "Something happened. wait."

If that's the case, I wouldn't want the devs to get fired just to appease a thread. We need them to make the shiny things.

Speaking of shiny things that are on topic. I just noticed the other day that Cailans (sp? eh) sword in the promo image is soooo not the sword he had in Ostagar. That sucker was as big as my elf-mage.

A company has two choices in these situations: i) release a badly flawed product and get the deserved storm of criticism or ii) delay the release, fix the flaws and get the high pitched whining of the I want it now generation. Too bad, this is a fairly good game which I won't be playing in a month so they lose my 5 bucks for the DLC and whatever for the expansion.

Simultaneous releases fail, if it means one platform has to wait for the other.
